Fai entered the main room of the King's quarters, but instead of continuing into the next room, to the King's bedroom, where at this moment Ashura-ou was pacing impatiently, waiting for his favourite wizard and confidant to arrive, he paused.
I sense something........someone...coming..
Ah, my good Ashura-ou, you'll have to wait perhaps a few more moments for your humble, dedicated wizard.
Fai turned back to the door, suddenly opening it and peeking his head out at the ninja and his nephew.
"Ah, Syaoran-kun, how nice to see you once again! What a good boy you are to bring your uncle a bento!" Then speaking directly to the ninja, "You must be so proud, ne?"
The blonde mage paused for effect, then smiled brightly at the ninja, "Ah, just look at what a bad wizard I am, keeping our King waiting when he so desperately needs my help!" Fai continued, speaking to Syaoran this time, but eyes locked on the ninja's. "And Syaoran-kun, I should take a lesson from your uncle Kurogane-san here.....he's such a dedicated servant."
Then breaking eye contact with the ninja and turning to face the boy, Fai grinned and ruffled the boy's hair gently, "Don't be a stranger, Syaoran, it's good to see such young, pure hearts around the castle!"
And with that, the mage, in even better spirits than he thought possible, disappeared behind the door to help the awaiting King.
