What do you say to people who hate the S+S relationship?

Something that is "canonical" is something that has been set in stone by the writers of the original fiction, and truly genuine in the history of the series.
In essence, the Card Captor Sakura anime and manga series is considered "canon", as it reflects true events within the story that were decided by the authors, CLAMP. Any corresponding fan-fiction, invented by people other than CLAMP, would be considered "non-canon". Basically, any fiction about Card Captor Sakura that is not written by CLAMP is non-canonical.
To become a little more complicated, Syaoran and Sakura falling in love with each other is a canonical event, because it happens in the series. Syaoran and Sakura marrying and going on a honeymoon is not a canonical event, as it does not happen in either the manga or the anime.

:) I am a devout S&S fan too however...
S&T have a beautiful relationship. It tears me apart watching the anime and reading the manga sometimes knowing that Tomoyo loves Sakura so dearly but will never be with her in the way she would wish.
Tomoyo never ends up with sakura (in my opinion) because she is meant to be SO kind and unselfish that she never fufils her love. This way her character is set in stone and remembered as being the beautiful kind hearted girl with unrequited love for her best friend.
(if she did end up with Sakura that wouldn't be so) however, I also would have liked her to express her love in a kiss or something :) that would have been cute.
