What do you say to people who hate the S+S relationship?

I think its cool that Syaoran and Sakura is a couple, well its better then Yukito + Syaoran or Yukito + Sakura because of the huge age difference.

Anyway Syaoran and Sakura are already together and theres nothing those S+ S haters can do about it now!

I can't believe the flame wars that go on over this. At Anime-Forums, they had a huge flame Syaoran thread where people were taking alot of low shots at Syaoran (some were pretty funny, I must admit), but anyway, there was this huge philosophical discussion of how Syaoran was just using Sakura the whole time, and how it's a message to girls everywhere to avoid predators or something like that.....

Of course, this is all fueled by Sakura+Tomoyo supporters, which to me, is the worst anime couple ever. I mean, it would completely butcher Tomoyo's character if they ended up together. Tomoyo loved Sakura, so she wanted Sakura to be happy NOT to be with her. It would really diminish the power of Tomoyo's love if they ended up together.

As for S+S, it's really one of the most popular anime couples in existence. I've never seen a bigger fanbase for a single couple like that, and there is no denying it is a canon in CCS and Tsubasa from the start. They are an extremely compatible couple, and their relationship is very realistic from my personal experience with relationships. They are extremely similar in alot of ways yet completely opposite in others, and they really complement each other quite nicely. CLAMP definately wasn't timid about making them a canon, and that's why CLAMP is so awesome. They always get the coupling right unlike most other animes.

That whole thing some people have about Syaoran using Sakura. That really upsets me. poor Syaoran, he is such an amazing character who seems to be so overlooked sometimes. People don't take time to really understand his true nature.

All can see that is up with most of those people is that CLAMP has done a better job of making Sakura alone endearing than it has of making the prospect of S+S so! Heh well to them, who possess a streak of jealousy that is also quite present in that of Syaoran, all I can say is that they've watched FAR TOO MUCH CCS. Which, I think, is actually a bit too rich coming from a rabid Tomoyo fan such as I and could, to be honest, quite well go for alot of other people here in his forum as well. =P

Indeed, I don't really think Syaoran is particularly hateful or anything-indeed no author would want to make the guy who runs off with the heroine as such would they? It seems much absurd that people would actually say that  "So actually we can also conclude that Syaoran X Sakura took place for economical purposes.". Seriously, they never considered it from a writer's perspective. Even if one wants to think of Art as a cleverly disguised commercialised ploy, it requires a good story before it sells. To have already worked all out towards creating the fans' dream of S+S would mean to pursue it to the end. To suddenly pair him up with someone else would be to contradict many things they'd been doing. It's not just a question of losing fans, but also betraying one's muse as well...

Oh well, that's all I have to say now. It's been an interesting discussion there to be honest. It's worth a look!

I'd say, dont read TRC and CCS because it kills you with the fluff. And to be frank, I had debated with person as well, and I gave him numerous reason as to why S + S are S+S, and if he still doesn't believe then that's fine.

Also, you shouldn't treat S + S as adults with intelluctal maturity because they dont have that. They are kids who fell in love, love isn't suppose to be questioned, it doesn't need logic, it doesn't need reason, love is love, and SxS have that. Either they are ignorant or blind. And if the person are so mad about it, they should just talk to CLAMP themselves and ask why S+S is S+S! *sigh*
