Kotarou/Tamayo? In the manga, it ends with Kotarou/Misaki and Ohjiro/Tamayo.

i like Misaki with Ohjiro, but i was really disappointed when after all the hints in the anime Misaki and Kotarou didn't become a couple

I checked the English subtitled version on my official Angelic Layer DVDs last night and the situation actually goes like this.

Ohijiro: So, what do I get if I win?

Ringo: I know!  A kiss from the princess!

Kotaro: Objection!  You can't do that!

Sae: I agree.  I certainly wouldn't be happy being kissed by a woman.

And in episode 16, when Misaki is fighting against Sae, Kaede says "It's strange that I'm more nervous about a friend's fight than my own fight" when she's with Hatako watching Sae's fight.  I think if Sae and Kaede were in love with each other, she would refer to her in a more intimate way than just "a friend."  No offense to any fans, but I just can't see Sae and Kaede being anything more than friends, at least in the anime version.

your subs are really different from that what i can remember....that's it! i'm downloading ep 17 again for that scene!

and in the anime they're just friends (officially) but in the manga....

That's probably because you may have been watching fansubs of Angelic Layer.  Fansubs are translated unofficially by non-professional fans who only think they know Japanese, but official subtitled versions are translated by proffessional translators who make a living out of translating Japanese into English.  If you've been watching Angelic Layer fansubs, I wouldn't exactly rely on everything that fansubs say because fansubs tend to be very inaccurate with their translations (for example, fansubs always tend to over-exaggerate swearing in anime).

oh crap i can't believe i made such a mistake and it's only been 2 weeks since i saw that ep for the 1st time! :sweatdrop:

so much for that scene being a 'perhaps Sai is gay' hint! :(

oh well we always have the manga for that :D

Cardcaptor Takato, I think you're being a bit harsh on fansubbers. Yes, there are extremely bad fansubbers and scanlators out there whose work I wouldn't touch with a forty-foot pole- for example, I recently came across a fan translation of 'X' that translated 'Sakurazukamori' as 'Cherry Blossom Star,' which is about as bad as it can get, considering that just about ANY fan of 'X' and 'Tokyo Babylon' could tell them what 'Sakurazukamori' actually means. But there are also extremely good fansubbers and scanlators who put out quality work. Sure, even the best fansubs and scanlations are not as good as a good official release, but they're good enough. And the best groups do have people who are fluent in the languages they are translating back and forth. Besides, there are official translations I also wouldn't touch with a forty-foot pole.

And it makes me sad that they cut out the Sai/Kaede shippiness from the anime... Especially destroying it with that awful quote. Then again, I was somewhat surprised that they left Yukito/Touya in the CCS anime, and they completely cut out Saya/Touru from the X anime.

Rika and Terada are cute together and don't start with the age difference thing cause i know a couple that's way worse......Haruka and that girl from ep 10 in Tactics i believe (she's like 10 years old and he looks like he's 30 but he's actually a few hundred years old), but that's not a Clamp couple, so i'm getting off topic here  :sweatdrop:

i like MisakiXKotarou as well, too bad they only become a couple in the manga.

and it seems i'm not the only one who likes TouyaXMizuki instead of TouyaXYukito....i like him with Yukito as well, but i like the Mizuki Touya couple better *looks behind him and sees a big group of angry TouyaXYukito fans*
