CC was dubbed for television.  Tsubasa is being dubbed for a direct to DVD release.  Why would it be edited?

Well technically it the first season shouldn't have been dubbed at all. That WAS illegal no matter what way you spin it. The "stop subbing after it's lisceneced" rule was made by the subbers themselves.

So if a subbers group subbs the second season, it's no more or less illegal than when the first season was dubbed.

I'm just saying, that's all.

...Well...as long as I can somehow get my hands on Tsubasa anime (and the movie, are they dubbing the movie too? From what I read in Animenation, that's the gist I got...)...

But, FUNimation is really good. And, yeah, they DO give you the options of the subs instead of the dubs. I usually flick between the two to see the differences. Haha.

I just hope I get to see season 2 and 3. Tsubasa is just too good to miss. I got all of season 1 and the movie and I just can't stop it there or ill cry for it. Afterall I've been an anime fan for years now.

Tsubasa Chronicle will be broadcasted on Animax Asia and I am soo freakin scared they'll dub it. Funimation seemed to already distributed it.

I like how they completely translated the title as: Chronicle of the Wings which is exactly what Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle would mean. Nice.

I actually have Animax here in Japan so it'll be in Japanese here, but what language do these shows air in the rest of Asia?

Apparently, this is Animax's own original dub of Tsubasa.  It isn't Funi's dub.  Seeing as how Funi is an American company and not an Asian company, the dub would've been released in the U.S. first if Funi was already distrubuting it.  But out of curiosity, is it really legal for them to produce two seperate dubs of Tsubasa?  I know they did this with several titles before including CCS and Rurouni Kenshin (which they aired as Samurai X), but can they really be allowed to dub their own version?  Do they have to have Funi's consent or can they just buy the rights from the Japanese company without having to go through Funi?

Funimation is in North America, Animax is in Asia, has nothing to do with Funi's consent, but I'm not to sure with the Bee Train or CLAMP for that matter, unless they bought the rights to use it over there, there are fans who watch and read the manga already in like 70% or so in the world, so its good news for the people over seas.

Now if, I know it will, it is dub, what would you like the voice actors to be?

Shojo's, or Animes that lack alot of explosions don't do well on American T.V. . Plus it would've been announced by now if it were going to be on any Anime showing networks. They announced that Bleach would be on Adult swim what, one week after they announced the liscense?

Well at least Tsubasa wasn't dubbed by 4kids, the masacer anime worse than *insert serial killer*  and it would be on at 7 in the morning.  I cannont get up that early on saturdays.  Hopefully all the companies learned from the horrible dubbs of CC and One Piece.

True, true, my friend and I were crossing our fingers that Tsubasa wouldn't get licensed by 4kids, and they didn't! Yay!

I still have to wonder who might end up doing their voices though....  :dodge:

Well since its Funni, they'll use Funni voice actors, maybe others, what would you like them to be if you could choose?

Kurogane: Jerry Jewell, Because I love his voice, it fits Kuro to a key almost.
Fai: Umm..... Brandon Hunt? Kudo's for anyone who hits Fai on the mark.
Sakura: Ellen Wilkinson, she is a good va, I don't know who else?
Sayoran: This ones hard too, Aaron Dismuke?, Any one else? Kevin Corn?, he'd be good.
Mokona: Monica Rial, She is the best in animal or, what the heck is that thing, for voice acting.

I've only heard Aaron as Al from FMA and young Akito from FB, unless he can do older voices I think he's gonna sound to kiddy.
Maybe Laura Balley for Sakura? She did ok as Tohru from fruits basket and that was a hard character to pull off IMHO. Plus she can sing.

I dont really know may FUNi people. *thinks back to FB and FMA* Momiji's VA fro Mokona if she can stay in hyper-mode ha ha. Ummmmmmm Nup cant think of anyone else.

Laura Bailey could do Sakura.I have the Fruits Basket dvd, and the dubb version is good. She sounds so innocent!

Doesn't really matter to me. As long as Funi doesn't cut out good scenes and they keep their original names. If they did FMA well, they can do this well too. THEY BETTER!!
