I think Funi wouldn't commit suiside with a stunt like that, the only thing that gets me thinking is how they will say Fai's name,

will it be Fay---(Fie) which is how it is to sound,
or will it be Fai, as in sounding?

And leaving all the Kuro-pin/Pong/wong jokes

We should be afraid of somthing like that to. Not just Fai's but pronouncing all of the names right.

Honestly, I'm only planning to watch the English version because Funimation is doing it, since I'm not too fond of the anime overall. I've watched the Yu Yu Hakusho and Spiral dubs they did, and I've become very fond of the company. They have some nice voice actors (though some who...aren't quite as good), and I love it when they put outtakes and such on the DVDs. I trust them not to "butcher" the series.

I agree with people who said that Laura Bailey would be good as Sakura.

I heard they were going to start releasing the series this fall. Is that true? And they're not putting it on TV? That would probably mean no edited version (not that there's really anything to edit out of the Tsubasa anime).

according to this page (http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/article.php?id=9381) these are the dvds release by funi in nov/dec. i don't see tsubasa anywhere :(

just want to point out that the slayers series was licensed by funimation since may 2005, and still no progress  :sad5: is that gonna be the same for tsubasa?  :( (yes, i am aware of the dubbed slayers anime, but that wasn't funi.)

After seeing the FMA movie this weekend I have to say I'm not worried at all about the way the dub will turn out at the least.

I had seen the movie before hand, and their dubbing job was top-notch, and they kept the script very close to the original. Also they handed out posters (BIG posters) to everyone who came, and the voice actors for Ed, Winry, Envy, Havoc,  (who was also the director for the dub) Gluttony and Nina showed up and signed them for everybody on their own free will,
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v305/TheAnna/DSCF0033.jpg
(The company was only making them go to the housten premiere) and were there until nearly 2AM in the morning so everyone would get their poster signed.

With a company that takes that much dedication with it's fans, why are you all so worried?

Last I heard Tsubasa won't be released until sometime middle of 2007. Unoffically of course, but thats what I've been told in the e-mail's I got from Funimation.

Weather it's true or not we won't know until they actually release the information we want ;)

Until then....

Well, I'm not worried but also worried!^_^''
I always believed that their's no perfect voice actor for Sakura in the english version. I'm afraid they might  make her voice too low or too high pitched. I'm just worried about that.

I am Forever Happy to be by your side...

I agree  with you, EuphoriaBliss... I dying to see what time of dubs they make. I hope Sakura's isn't too bad. I can't even picture Syaoran's and Fai's voice being dubbed... Maybe Kurogane's though. It's all deep and stuff, I'm sure that one won't be that much of a problem.

Um... the release date for the first DVD of Tsubasa is set for May 22, 2007.

All I ask is that Sakura's voice not sound like a mouse that has swallowed helium.

According to ANN, Funi has officially announced the English cast for the Tsubasa dub.  You can read the list of the English voice artists here: http://animenewsnetwork.com/news/2007-02-25/tsubasa-english-cast-announced

I have to say I wasn't expecting Vic Mignogna to play Fai, but that should be an interesting experience.  For those wondering what the dub might be like, Colleen Clickenbeard will be the ADR director for the dub, and she was also the ADR director for the FMA dub, so if you're also a fan of the FMA dub, you hopefully won't have anything to worry about with Tsubasa.
When her leathery, crow-footed face turned towards my raised hand and said, “Yes, the boy in the Sailor Mercury t-shirt,” I sprung into action. It took me a brief 20 seconds to acquire the bokken (wooden sword) I had secured to the underside of our chairs with duct tape the night previous. Shouting “Japan BANZAIII!” in the manner of those noble kamikaze pilots from the War of United States Aggression (so tactlessly referred to in your history books as “World War II”), I charged the stage, bringing down the bokken forcefully onto the plywood table in front of Tiffany Grant. It was a tragic mistake not to channel my ki correctly. The bokken splintered into a thousand pieces, leaving me with no other plan of attack besides shouting, “You’re no Asuka!” as two Ohayocon toughs escorted me out of the room-SomethingAwful.com

Ok, I just saw the voice actor information..... the only wish I had was that Sakura not sound like she had swallowed helium.... Monica Rial sounds like that in a lot of the work she does.... I am so disappointed.

It's a little unfair to judge a dub before you've seen it.  With someone like Collen Clickenbeard directing, it might not turn out that bad.  Just give it a chance before you pass judgment on it.  But TBH, all I really care about is for somebody to get Tomoyo's voice right this time.  That's all I ask for.

Well what voiceactors they get dosen't really much to me because I probably won't watch much of the dub, but I don't think Vic Mignogna fits to talk Fai, what I have heard of him I think he has a pretty dark voice which I don't think will fit Fai very well....... I haven't heard the other voiceactors on the list..

You know what? Usually I'm the first person to say not to judge a dub. I LOVE voice actors and I love a lot of dubs. I just really love Tsubasa and I wanted the best for it. I don't think some of those voice actors are the best. I will of course watch the dub because some of my friends have trouble with subtitles, but I would just like to enjoy the experience.

Bad news guys...my friend watched the first dub ep of Tsubasa at a convention...and here's what was asked...

Do they keep the suffixes?

Quote
Nope.

Sakura calls Shaoran "Shou" like.. Shou Tucker. XD And I guess after she wakes up from her unconscious state, she starts calling him Shaoran.

>_>...guess no "Kuro-pon" .....Kuro-sama maybe changed to Lord Kuro....

At least they tried to keep the general idea of their intimacy. It just sounds... americanized. Horribly. ;

The official trailer for Tsubasa is up at Funi's MySpace page: http://www.myspace.com/funimation You can hear some of the English VAs in the clips and all I can say so far is that I'm impressed and they pronounced Sakura's name correct this time!
