CLAMP's Famous Works > Cardcaptor Sakura
Which is better? Japanese or English?
Cardcaptor Takato:
And let's not forget that Sonomi was changed to Samantha, though I don't think that was that bad of a name change, at least not compared to the others.
Strawberry:
I don't think it's weird in Cardcaptors that everyone has an Engliah name expect for Sakura (excluding Syoaran, Meilin since they are from Hong Hong, also Kero, Yue because they are not human) To me this is like, Sakura is the only person in Cardcaptors to be an international person from the others???? sounds abit weird and confusing to me
Takeru:
They don't even tell us what country Reedington is in anyways. Why? There's no such thing as internationality, or nationality in general, for that matter. Think about it. As gathered from the dub, Sakura and Co. live in the Imaginary Country of Dubs™ where there's no such thing as ethnicity or cultural difference or somesuch, and it's obvious that Nelvana wanted to effectively eliminate all Asian culture from CCS in translation, to the point where they even stereotypically romanized Li's first name and intentionally invented Invisible Chalk™.
AznFFTRCCCSxxxholicGirl:
I love Japanese better because I love Japanese
Hima:
I admit I only watched the English version on the net. But as I've seen both versions, the Japanese version rules for me. I was horrified by the English. Not to mention I really didn't like the official Cardcaptors site that much.
