Kari is short for Hikari. (from wiki: Hikari "Kari" Kamiya) It's like Takeru, His name is still the same in the English version, just used the shortened T.K to make it easier to dub.

Claymation is accepted...so are those puppet shows like Thunderbirds.

Video game characters are NOT acceptable unless they appeared in an anime, manga or comic book series like Street Fighter and Sonic.
