Personally, I don't see any harm with 'lurkers'. If they want to post here and be part of the community, more power to them. Otherwise, unless the mere presence of multiple members are causing harm to the forum or program and function of the place...NO HARM...NO FOUL!

I stand by my post. I think discussion on this topic is a moot point for now.

I now this is an old topic.

Come shortly  - any user account with 0 posts that hasn't been accessed in the last month or so (I haven't decided exact time frame) will be deleted.

Just to say, this isn't being mean - its just organization.

The new rule going into effect:

All users accounts that have not had a single post for more then 6 months (read users with a zero post count) will be deleted.

i wonder how many inactive members are concerned about deletion,but at least it will give more possibilies of nicknames for the newbies who wish to register on the forum 
it's a good thing to clean the forum before it becomes too crowded,after all the number of members registered is not a proof of good quality!
somtimes it's better to have few dedicated members than numerous non-existent members  !

but i was thinking about something about the suppression of old and abandoned topics :
many newbies have created a topic only to present themselves or to ask a question,but some of them have only post one message,so since these topics are useless and short will they be deleted as well?
and in that case would it mean that the newbies who have posted only one message on these topics would lost their only one post,and so that they would be deleted according to rule one since their profile account would be displaying zero post  ?

If the topic is deleted, the post count goes down. If the topic is archived or trashed, their count remains the same. If they haven't posted in 6 months, the member will be deleted entirely in the new update however if they want to re-join, they'd be more than free to do so. That's my take on the new rule but I'm not 100% sure.
