22 - Yuuwaku - Temptation

23 - Sentaku  - Choice

24/Extra and Final Story - Tsuioku  - Recollection (some networks will air this as episode 24, while others, TBS including, as an extra story).

The arc with Watanuki's ghost little friend (the one who taught him about the salt).

I really wonder when it will be decided if there will be a second season or not. And apparently the names Chibiyuuto first got for the next couple episodes were wrong. xd

I hope they will, this show has been spoiling me with MORE Watanuki x Domeki scenes than the manga has ever provided!
Episode 21, Watanuki acts just like a housewife for a guy who just busted into his room. I'd call the police or something.
And, for those who have read the manga, we all know there will be at least one more scene just for this couple 
And, of course, XXXHolic shouldn't end without another important arc.
Actually, I feel that XXXHolic may last longer than Tsubasa in anime because there're so many problems in society and so many things wrong with people out there, particularly psychologically, they can make TONS of filler episodes. (I can't believe the dark, MTV generation that I used to pick at becomes such a morbidly beautiful inspiration :p)

i actually agree with that... plus there's no definite storyline with xxxHolic. I mean, there is but it's not as definite as something like Tsubasa.

Watched episode 21 subbed, and I must say what's up with the current anime episodes having themes that are the same as what's going on with the current manga chapters?

Himawari saying that maybe she'll have good luck, Watanuki remembering that he stopped believing in superstitions after his parents died, and the next episode dealing with the woman at the park.  In that one, Watanuki wanted to stay with the woman despite the fact that she was lethal to him because she was lonely.  Sounds an awful lot like what may happen in the next chapter of the manga, eh?

Being that there's a member of Clamp on the anime's staff, makes me wonder if they timed this or something.

It seems like they did a really good job with it, glad it's a two parter.  Watanuki "popping" was so cute, but overall it was touching.  In 23 Yuuko's actually going to wear her "Witch" clothes!  This is the first time in the anime, right?  Wonder if they had her make the gods or not.

other than the movie, thaty would indeed be the first time she wars that outfit...does that mean they finaly kept in a TRC reference?

Well, they could still have her creating the gods without making it obvious that it had to do with TRC.  She is out of the house for several days and calls Watanuki like she did in the manga, just minus the frame that shows her in the process of making the gods.  I don't know what they're saying, so we'll have to wait until the subs come out to know for sure.  But if she's wearing that outfit in 23, it makes me think that they probably left it in.

The phone part reminded me of the phone story in Tokyo Babylon.  In that story Subaru said that an attack could come over a phone despite the area being protected by a kekkai (which his apartment and Yuuko's shop both have).  When two places are connected by the phone line both areas become one, so then the kekkai won't work if an attack comes over the phone.

Yuuko must be using a "special phone" then, as she would never leave herself open like that. If you look in the manga when she's talking to him over the phone, she's not using a phone herself.

cant they even keep the ambiguos references in? [creating gods, the wings parasites being created by a sorcerer {hell, you dont make that conection till way later in TRC when yuuko mentions FWR is harvesting souls}

Apparently it's about Watanuki as a little kid and making friends with some little boy. Aww, Watanuki's first boy love. xdxd

Watched the raw for 24, it was definately a cute way to end the series.  They even used the first ending for it.  Watanuki pulled a puppy face and the proportions for the characters were correct for the most part, at least from what I could tell.  The animation was quite good.



Of course Watanuki has to cook on his own birthday.
