I skimmed the chapter really quickly, and from what I read of bits and pieces...
Show contentSyaoran's power is reduced because of his missing eye. He took Fay's eye, because that is the source of where Fay's power is.

As a vampire on the run, what reason does he have to stop the bait from tearing the other guy's eye out? All he wants is for Subaru to wake up so they can skidaddle. Not really so interested in saving a rival in prettiness.
