The way it goes everywhere, and how it's such a lovely shade of chestnut! And it completely compliments Sakura's hair color, don't you agree?!

Its such a cool color!  Not exactly brown, it has a sort of auburn tint under the right lighting.  And its always in his eye, which makes him look even cooler than before.

In TRC its spikier, and in CCS its...more wild?

I think Syaoran's hair is CCS looks more...soft and fluffy. lol
if that makes sense...
In Tsubasa its spikey, less curves and more... well... ridgid.

though that might just be because of CLAMPs new drawing style....

CCS Syaoran has a cute factor. His blushing is adorable, and when he stammers! ^.^
you don't see as much of that in Tsubasa, and he's a little more reserved in a way. CCS Syaoran wouldn't be afraid to shout if he had too, TRC Syaoran is a little more... within himself I think... is more clam, mature and a little less arrogant. ^^;;

but how can we forget the robes? *___* I mean, CCS Syaoran is Chinese (we don't really know about TRC Syaoran yet), and he already knew how to use a sword. I loved his sword in CCS, so much so I have a replica *coughobsessedcough*  >_>

but TRC Syaoran has a sword too ^^;, although, learnt to use it rather than he knew already. TRC Syaoran seems to have no faults at all o__o. CLAMP have made him so nice, so strong and determind that its almost that he is super human. CCS Syaoran had some issues! lol and I liked that... you got to see him mature and grow as a character, and some people started off unsure of him ended up idolising him. ^__^

I'm not saying I don't like TRC Syaoran. He's got a 'OMG WOW' factor. lol. He is  more 'hot' as many fangirls might say XD, but he's still Syaoran, (we musn't forget the CCS Syaoran that most of us adored to start with!)

Syaoran is a gentle warrior. He is strong, brave and determind. He was willing to give everything for Sakura, both in CCS and TRC. He's not a real person, and I'm not sure I'd want him to be one.... he's supposed to be a fantasy, he represents what some people hope to be. He represents courage and love at all costs... sacrifice and loyalty. Strength in the mind and in the heart.

well, I might be getting too deep now... o_o
I do that alot...
so I'll stop... lol

yay for Syaoran-kun :)

Continue Xiao_Lang-chan! I love depth and reason! That was an excellent analysis, and you not only said why you liked both Syaoran's, but you supported it with substantial evidence! You're very good when it comes to that! And I agree with you; TRC Syaoran is much more reserved, but he seems almost too perfect. I love a character that has apparent faults, and works on achieving them! That's why CCS Syaoran will always be my favorite!

thank you so much!
I am very obliged when someone takes time to read my thoughts :)
sometimes I feel they are overlooked on other forums simply because sometimes people prefer to keep things extremely basic, and I don't want to seem as though I am blabbing a little ^^;

I've said if before, and I will probably never get tired of saying it (until someone else shuts me up, lol )
but Syaoran helps me to be more sure of myself. (this might seem like madness to some people) but if you really think about it, he really is an inspiration ^_^

^__^ I think that is what is so nice about CCS Syaoran too. He seems.. a little bit more believeable :)

I guess CCS and TRC Syaoran are slightly different because what they are trying to achieve in each story is slightly different.... and yet the same

CCS Syaoran at first just wants the cards, then he just wants to be noticed by, and help and protect Sakura. I loved it in the second movie, when he was under the tree, and he said that even if he loved Sakura, if she didn't want to, there was no reason for her to answer him <3

TRC Syaoran, is more reserved, but he has good reason... he knows Sakura will never remember him. For those who have someone they love, they'll empathise with the pain that he must feel, the lonliness and heartbreak.... and those who don't probably have a pretty good idea too....
...it is his task is to protect her at all costs, retriving her memories. But there is still that element of 'I don't care if she never remembers me'

he'll always be doing what is best for her.... in both stories, Sakura is the one who teaches him, and melts his heart.

Just to stick my two cents in here: I agree that Syaoran is rather too perfect in TRC. He doesn't seem to be really human almost. Not that he's real, but you know what I mean.

But TRC Sakura also seems too perfect to me. She never gets angry, she never complains. All she does is act supremely and sugarly sweet. Though, in all fairness, I suppose that stripping her of all her memories kind of also stripped her down to the barebones of her personality. Even still, Fai and Kurogane with their issues seem a lot more interesting, as much as I love Syaoran and Sakura.

But this all makes sense to me. CCS was, as most magical girl series are, a story about growing up, a story of developing and reaching adulthood and your full potential. (I could go on for hours about CCS as a coded coming-of-age story, but I won't.) It therefore obviously was supposed to reflect real life and real life issues; that's why Sakura had her unrequited crush on Yukito and why Touya had his heart broken by Kaho. That's what happens in real life. You don't find your soulmate in your first crush. You just don't. And your first crush is always exciting and frightening; you don't know how to handle your feelings, just like Syaoran and Sakura don't know how to handle their feelings. And real people get mad at each other, and throw hissy fits, etc. That's why Syaoran is such a jerk to Sakura and why Sakura and Touya always fight. (Even though he's in high school and should know better than to fight with a fourth grader.)

TRC, however, is not a coming of age story. It's an epic, a piece of mythology. In mythology, characters are supposed to be the epitome of what humans seek to be, not what they actually are. It totally makes sense, then, that Syaoran would be so perfect. Just as somebody said earlier on this thread, he's supposed to represent love and loyalty in their purest forms.

O.O LadyUltima, why does every single one of your posts leave me in awe? I agree with everything you just said 100%!!

Now, I noticed that a lot of people were asking about the two Syao Syaos that everyone keeps referring to. Frankly, even those of us who have read and seen all of TRC so far still don't really know. But if you'd like to know what we do know so far:

Show content
The second Syao Syao seems to be some kind of clone created by TRC's antagonist, Fei Wong Reed. All we know about evil Syao Syao is that he seems to be able to get into Syao Syao's mind (although he's only done this twice so far, and only for seconds at a time.) Also, that may not even be the evil Syao Syao doing that, it may be Fei Wong Reed allowing him or forcing him to.. He hasn't even made a psysical appearance in front of the TRC gang, yet. Only in Syao Syao's mind or through his body. He pretty much just floats in a tube in Fei Wong Reed's little office of doom and evilness like Nataku-chan from X right now.. Like I said, we know little to nothing about him yet. Oh yeah, except for that he has awesome ink. XD (He's got a ton of red tattoos/markings. They're cooool..) But besides the ink, he looks just like Syao Syao. With an evil face.

Wow you guys are so analytical! Lol. Nice posts everyone. I completely agree with what everyone has just said. CCS is what started everyone's obsession. You have to remember that there was CCS Syaoran before TRC Syaoran. Its just neat to see him grow up and mature and still fight for Sakura and protect her no matter what! I also think that TRC Syaoran is perfect, but like LadyUltima said that TRC is like mythology that the people in the stories are people that everyone wants to become and look up to.

Woah this sure is getting interesting.

(blink blink) Really? Awe? I'm always worried I come off as pretentious. Well, thanks. (ego is stroked)

And, none of us TRC fans really do have any real clue as to what the heck is up with the two Syaorans. We've got all kinds of theories, though.

And... dude.

Ebil Syaoran really is like Nataku in X. I hadn't even thought of that. Hmm... Actually, a few months ago there was a conversation going on about similarities between Kamui and TRC Syaoran. Kinda interesting. I don't think anybody mentioned the fact that nobody knows who Kamui's father is, just like nobody knows who TRC Syaoran's parents are, or even if he actually has biological parents, but I've always found that point rather interesting.

that would be me who said that  :keke:

I agree with your points Lady Ultima.
CCS and TRC are different in what the whole manga intends to be as well, thus why characters are different.

Sakura is an interesting topic (and I know this is a Syaoran thread so I'll be brief.)  As Lady Ultima said she is quite a sweet and pure hearted character, and seems to have no issues at all. This is true both in CCS and TRC in a way. CCS Sakura always came across as a little 'dense' sometimes. She misses things, sometimes she doesn't always link things together, even acts a little nieve at times...that is part of what makes her so cute and pure. Her seemily total lack of anything bad in her soul... both in CCS and TRC.

Syaoran is perfect yes, and I agree with the mythology idea :)
He's someone people can aspire too. a legend in the making...

maybe, just maybe, that not so perfect side of Syaoran.. resides within Syaoran number two...

but  I'm sure we'll all find out in due time

If there was ever a highly possible theory on why Syaoran is so perfect, this would be it! I do agree;
Show content
One theory that I've had for a while, and you saying this hightened it, is that Syaoran might be split into 2 parts! Much like the Fujitaka/Eriol/Clow Reed theory!

It's quite possible that either Syaoran, or someone with an enormous amount of power, aka Fei Wong Reed, had split Syaoran in 2. Think about it for a minute. Syaoran has absolutely no memories of his past after Fujitaka found him, and he doesn't know when he was born for that matter. The evil part of Syaoran such as his bad faults, could be in the evil Syaoran. He could be much like how CCS Syaoran was only more so. Apparent bad faults, and a possible lust for killing.

Of course CCS Syaoran would never go that far, but don't forget that CCS Syaoran is violent in a sense. He did try to hurt Sakura when he first met her, and this Syaoran might be even more violent. As always, this is mere speculations, and I am not claiming that it is indeed factual.

Also, thank you all for your excellent theories! They're truly fantastic! Minna-san sugoi ne!

another point that would support that theory is that Syaorans right eye is blind, and the Syaoran number 2 has a patch on his left eye...

looks like each of them got one good eye each if they were split....

I think I said a while ago that I wasn't quite sure that Syaoran (TRC) was human.  I think that all this speculation is making me wonder more, because not only is he the epitome of perfection, and moezy-chan, Xiao Lang and LadyUltima are making such wonderful points that I am almost positive that the Syao 2 is his 'less than perfect' side that was taken from him at some point ; most likely before he met Fujitaka.

^ Part of it relies on watching the series. It can be a bit confusing if you haven't seen it. But that is one theory I have held for quite a while, though I'm not entirely positive on it.

Nani? What's this about Syaoran being perfect? No-one is perfect, including ficitional characters. I believe that Syaoran is indeed human, but the one that you've been in the tube I'm assuming is a clone that the villian made. I could be wrong, it's either that or "his evil side".

Syaoran isn't PERFECT perfect, but as far as men go he's on his merry way.  His only faults are his lack of self confidence in matters of feelings and some clumsiness.  But this is all speculation, we'll never know if he's human or not, or even really who we all think he is?

Syaoran-kun is very much an enigma.
