XXXHOLiC Manga Discussion (Spoilers may be present!)

I don't know if there's a thread to discuss XXXHOLiC. I could only find ones for listing downloading links. I figured it'd be cool if we had somewhere to theorize/discuss the series that crosses over with Tsubasa!

(If there already is a similar thread, I missed it and you can go ahead and delete this, gomen!)

But anyway, one thing I and a friend have noticed is that all of Yuuko's customers thus far have been women. Do you think there's any special significance behind this, or is it just because CLAMP likes drawing pretty girls as opposed to pretty boys?

I read in some interview that Ohkawa looked back at their old works and noticed that all the customers for various people (Subaru, the CLAMP Gakuen Tanteidan) had been female, and so she decided to start doing it on purpose.

Oh! That's interesting! I'd never heard that, before Capella (and actually I never even noticed they've been all women o_o). Thanks for sharing  that. ^^ Though I have to say, that isn't very fair for any guys who want wishes granted. XD

Doumeki can sometimes see things through the eye he half gave Watanuki.

I like XXXHOLiC, though I don't keep up with the current chapters. I really wonder what's up with Himawari, but I don't think that's likely to be revealed until the end. She's my favorite character, along with the Kuda-kitsune (darn, where can I get one of those things? I want one!).

XXXHOLiC can be found at the same place as the Tsubasa scans - here, most Wednesdays. I think there are cleaned up scans elsewhere, but I don't know the link.

only up to ch 109 is scanslated. theres no translater anymore so no scanlations V_V

I added a poll, just for fun. Since this seems to be the dominant XXXHolic pairing in the fandom, I thought I'd get everyone's opinions on it.

I voted 'yes', since their relationship is easily the one going through the greatest change and the one that CLAMP focuses on the most! Also, Doumeki's so cute, always protecting Watanuki 

So yeah, feel free to vote and post about why you think it won't/will become canon.

Watanuki/Himawari? AHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAH. Sorry.  Even though I don't really SEE CLAMP making Doumeki/Watanuki canon (they practically are anyway), I think it's more plausible than Watanuki/Himawari. I see Yuuko/Himawari happening before Watanuki/Himawari.

But anyway, Doumeki/Watanuki is a really cute pairing, IMO. I love how Yuuko is practically a D/W shipper. I adore Yuuko.

Oooh, I love polls! I voted for the last one. It's got huge amounts of stuff supporting it, but I'm not quite sure if it will ever be made really canon. Maybe it's just that I'm not into it. I like Watanuki, since he's so spaztastic, but also sensitive in a way. Doumeki, on the other hand, bores me half to death. Does he get more interesting past volume 7?

...Yuuko/Himawari would be SO AWESOME. XD They're gorgeous, crazy, and creepy! Not that it would make any sense whatsoever, but it would still be awesome. As far as I'm concerned, XXXHOLiC girls > XXXHOLiC boys.

The first time I read books 1-6 I didn't like Doumeki much, (but I don't think I really read it that thoroughly, only to catch the TRC crossovers). But, when I re-read the series online the second time, to get up-to-date with the current chapters in Japan, I started to like him alot more

Especially if you start to believe that Doumeki is totally in love with Watanuki XD If you think about the series in terms of that you get alot more depth and subtext, and you feel sorta sorry for Doumeki.. Makes him much more likeable though, I think..

But yeah, I think I'm just too militant when it comes to shipping~

I'm not sure whether CLAMP would ever make Doumeki/Watanuki canon (same with KuroFai) but you've gotta love Yuuko's teasing

Yehp, personally I believe that Dou/Wata has a helluva better chance of happening than Watanuki/Himawari, but I'm not completely sure that it'll be made overly obvious

Yuuko/Himawari would be so awesome, in a nonsensical and 'why the hell not?' kind of way.
