Wreck stories
« on: April 22 2005, 01:13 am »
So, I was in an auto wreck about half an hour ago.^^; It really sucks, since I was at fault, but it got me thinking about how stupidly funny wreck stories can be, as long as no one gets hurt... and you choose not to think about the horrible repercussions your insurance is going to feel. And that ticket you got. And that airbag that refuses to fit back into the steeringwheel.

Anyway, this thread is for sharing your dumbest wreck story. It doesn't need to be all car stories or anything... Bike wrecks and I-walked-into-a-tree-once stories are more than welcome.^^

But my wreck story! It is so stupid. A bee flew in my window and just kind of sat there on the door. A note: I am petrified of bees. I have a longstanding phobia. My last bee encounter was at the Medieval fair, where one flew in my ear. I swung my head forward so I was doubled over at the waist, launching the two hats and a headband I was wearing a few good yards. Then I straightened up and smacked myself in the ear for a decent time, while my friends all stared at me and laughed. I DO NOT LIKE BEES.

Anyway, I did the bravest thing I've ever done... I tried to knock it out of the car with a snood (it is a thing that looks an awful lot like a hairnet). Well, I missed the bee and threw the snood out the window. Then, all of a sudden, there was an airbag in my face. Apparently, the stuff that fills airbags looks like grey smoke and smells awful. Well, I didn't know that. I thought my car was on fire. So I stumble out into the traffic, which is mostly at a standstill watching the wreck.

I the start wondering if wandering in the traffic is the safest thing. Then the people watching me start to freak me out a bit... so I get back in the car. The car which, at this point, I still think is on fire.

I am an idiot.

After I figured out nothing was on fire, things got boring so I won't detail it. Isn't commuting fun?
Vincent Valentine: I have nothing to say.
Yuffie Kisaragi: That's okay, it was probably depressing anyway.

Once, there was a crash on the road ahead, but no one told anyone....

We drove over a shorn off door, lost control, and almost crashed into the side of the road....and this was a busy motorway!

Luckily, we were alright, although I think I nearly had a heart attack when we skidded across the road...

My dad dropped me off at my house after school. I got out of the car when I accidentally  slammed the seat on another car. I quickly looked back and this guy was yelling angrily. I politely apologized but he was like, "Sorry my ***!" So I walked away pissed off, while giving the guy the middle finger.  Of course, everyone else was looking at him weirdly so... yeah.

Ok, so it's not exactly a car wreck. Although, I did fell down the stairs when I was around five or six and my right knee hit a bunch of broken glasses below. o__o I had that huge stitched-up scar ever since.

I've never been in a car wreck, but when I was a kid I used to like riding down steep hills on my bike really fast until one day when I ran into a tree.  I wasn't hurt or anything, but ever since then I've been afraid of riding down steep hills whether it's in a car or on a bike.
When her leathery, crow-footed face turned towards my raised hand and said, “Yes, the boy in the Sailor Mercury t-shirt,” I sprung into action. It took me a brief 20 seconds to acquire the bokken (wooden sword) I had secured to the underside of our chairs with duct tape the night previous. Shouting “Japan BANZAIII!” in the manner of those noble kamikaze pilots from the War of United States Aggression (so tactlessly referred to in your history books as “World War II”), I charged the stage, bringing down the bokken forcefully onto the plywood table in front of Tiffany Grant. It was a tragic mistake not to channel my ki correctly. The bokken splintered into a thousand pieces, leaving me with no other plan of attack besides shouting, “You’re no Asuka!” as two Ohayocon toughs escorted me out of the room-SomethingAwful.com

god i know exactly what you mean, when i was like 13 (i was mad on bikes then) i used to bomb around everywhere on my bike, and one day i went really fast down a stepe hill and my bike hit a stupid measely stone sending the bike up into the air with ME STILL ON IT !!! and i landed like head and shoulder first, i swear i went numb all over, but oddly enough i only got a few scratches XD but a ton of bruises ^^;;;the bike i kicked out to the side, i've seen bikes fall on people before... not nice

I think I already said this the other day but I was in a mini-accident myself. Cars weren't damaged and no one got hurt but it certaintly scared the living crap out of me.
We were going down the highway and all of a sudden this guy rams into the back of us. My mom panicked and started swirving but she managed to stop the car before we swirved off into the ditch [phew!]. The guy who hit us pulled over, too and my mom got out of the car and started screaming at him [which is ery odd because my mother is extrememly easy-going...although...I guess it doens't matter to her considering we could have gotten hurt or killed] they guy said something about his foot slipping off the break or some crazy thing like that. So my mom just started laughing and was like, "Okay! Take care!"  :shifty: My mom is pshyco. Our car only has a couple of scratches on the bumper, but the other guys liscence plate broke right off. My mom just laughed and said, "Serves the B***** right."
:shifty: My mom and her crazy mood swings.

Another time, I was about 6 or 7, my dad got into a car accident on my birthday! He was coming back from the ship (he was in the navy) and he was half-way home when some guy smacked into him, he swirved off the road and drove right into someone's garage door! Luckilly the guy who owned the house wasn't pissed (since he saw the whole thing and knows it wasn't his fault). My dad was "okay". He had cuts over his face and arms because the windshield broke, and his back is now all permanantly messed up (another reason why he quit the navy). I barely remember this, but I was sitting on the kitchen floor playing with that horrible unrealistic Barbie Doll while my mom was making my birthday cake when the phone rang. My mom answered it and (I remember this part vividly) turned to me and said, "Your daddy is in the hospital."
I was just like, "err...kaY?"

I've been in so many non-car accidents it's crazy. But I've never broken a bone and I've never split anything open! Just sprains and relatively deep cuts.
I believe I'm going to die by falling down the stairs.....since I fall down them so often. [shakes fist at staircase]
Whew, I've bored you.

I did that with a stop sign.
I was talking to a friend and I turned around and smacked right into it.
Then I almost got hit by the car that was whizzing by. Whew, good times.

that reminds me of a time where my mom was running through the snow or rain, with her head down because it was snowing/raining, and she runs SMACK into a pole.  :sweatdrop: My family is just the strangest one out there. :okay:

I am the master of falling down the stairs.
No one can do it better than me!
I remember Mark and I were having a debate over something that I can't remember, and I had retorted with what I thought was the best comeback ever, and I started walking away all smug and feeling pretty damn good, and I slipped down the stairs (while holding my ravioli and  glass of water in my hands).  Mark starts laughing his head off, calling me a "F'n loser"  and I get up, covered in ravioli and I go down the next set of stairs, and I loose all the rest of my dignity by falling again!!!  Whew, I also cut my hand on the broken glass, but  meh. Who cares? I'm talking about the stairs right now!!!
I also took one of those tests, "What's your deathday?" and it said I was going to die by falling down the stairs.
Cool.
