it cannot rename all files!!!and besides that,it always has the type behind it!!

ex:Aikoi.mp3

when i wanna rename it,it says:"If you change a files extension,the file may become unusable."

waht im susppose to do??!!! help!!

Ok calm down.. apperently one of your folder options got changed.

Open a folder (ANY folder):

Tool > Folder Options > View then scroll down till you see "Hide Extensions for known fle types"

Make sure it's checked

Only advanced users should have it unchecked since it allows them to change the file type of a file without having to do anything 'extravagent'

Sometime's when you start up your system a 'grimlin' will get into your options and change one or two things..

It's rare, very rare, but it does happen.

Although WHAT causes them... can't answer that as I've never been able to figure it out.

Sometimes it happens to me. I have a very simple solution (it doesn't work on everything). If you want to change the name of a pic, try adding to that name ".jpg" (example). Or if you want to change the name of a soundclip or song, try adding at the end of the new name ".mp3" (ex).

Give it a try, maybe it'll work

What type of file is the xxxHolic file you are trying to open? ^^;
(jpg, avi, mp3...?)
and... It is best to get the free version of AVG, (though wth less funtions) since asking for serial codes is somewhat illegal. ^^;

Okay,another problem.It really made me angry! >_< This is the problem.When I want to download anything,the download tool wouldn't show.I don't know whether the file is complete or not![When I closed Mozilla Firefox,I cannot open it again!Its usually can!]And then,the file I want to delete,it cannot be delete!Not only delete,but to move it to another files also cannot! O_O Oh man~!What's happening!It will become a white types of file.[Dunno how to tell.Gomen! >.<]I wanna show it but,when I wanna upload it,it would hang!Please!!!I really need help!This is really important! >_< When I clicked at tools-->downloads,it would hang! Any suggestions or helps~!?

does it  says that the file is busy or currently being used by another program... If yes... then maybe reboot your p.c. and try to delete it again.

about download problem --- better try right click on the link then save target as ...

if your pc keep on freezing/hang up... may be you might consider format the entire hard drive ... of course this is your last solution.

Nevermind...but thx for your help.My sister said she would check if something wrong with Mozilla Firefox (2.0) that I'm using right now.I almost forgot that I also have Internet Explorer. ^^" I can download using IE...Thx again for your help sanlyn!

Even though the problem is over, I have that problem as well. And how I rename it, it's different then what Kasawa Lanford said. When I press yes on that question, the computer's right. It's unusable, I can't open the document! And the cause is, every document at the ending has the the word doc. (for 2003) docx. (2007) pptx (2007) etc.
You probably erase the doc, docx or pptx part that makes the computer thinks you're going to change the document into (for example, word, to power point) that's why there's a question saying open with what.
 That's my guess. Since the problem's solved, I don't know if I should post this or not, but still it's for you all to know.
