Tsubasa Chronicle Manga Review

Yay, I finally got to review some TRC for Anime News Network!  I want to know what you guys think of my review... I hope I was critical enough without being too hard on it!

I think it's a very good review. If this had been one of the first volyme, I'd say you were a bit too much on the critical side to encourage others to read it, but as it concerns volyme 8-10, it feels more like a welcome break from the usual rambling of a starry-eyed fan (which we are all, more or the less). The synopsis is excellently written and your language is intelligent without being stiff, however, at the last section, the sentence It’s nice to finally see Sakura being a little bit cool sticks out for some reason - I'm not sure why, really. Perhaps it's the "little" that seems unnecessary, or maybe "cool" is somewhat too informal to fit in the text, but either way, I dislike that sentence. Not that it's much to do about it now, and besides, it's simply a matter of personal taste. Overall I think it's great! I hope we'll get to see more reviews from you in the future.
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing.

The quality of the review is excellent. I think you did a good job balancing criticism and praise. The writing is very understandable and smooth.

Of course, the actual opinion expressed in the review is almost the complete opposite of my own, as Shura/Shara is by far my favorite arc in the series, but I can't speak for readers who have only read TRC and Cardcaptor Sakura, as I think a lot of TRC readers have. So I never find Shura/Shara slow or boring, but that may be  because of my attachment to the characters involved (though Suzuran and Souseki are original, but I like their part still), and the absence of Kurogane and Fai from much of the arc doesn't bother me at all.

Yeah, I know.  That's why I said it was a great advertisement for those older series... I know if I had read them, I would have enjoyed it alot more.
