Just to put it simple, she did the original dubs for Cardcaptors, the english release. I barely found out and I'm screaming my head off.

wait a second. Who did the original English cardcaptor release? Monica Rial? Who was she in that? Not Sakura.... There's no way that was her. She wasn't Meilin either, so who was she?

Monica did Sakura. Her girly sqeaky voice is hate for me. In TRC Sakura's voice was soft but they make it sqeaky, I hope this doesn't happen.

I always get scared about dubs.
I get annoyed because I just dislike seeing the characters I like turn American. (Then again when they have English accents they sound so... weird..which they shouldn't because I am english... but from experience from other dubs, english people seem to give no emotion into their voice overs O___O)

anyway... ^^;

I fear most of all that it just won't feel like Tsubasa. I mean, the anime doesn't feel like Tsubasa enough anyway, take away Yui and Miyu and its just... blah

I guess really I shouldn't be so negative

Here is a a newer role in Monica's careers. She does the main girl and she doesn't sound that bad. But I'm still hating on her. It's called "Kurau Phantom Memory"

Aww I think Jason will do a pretty good job as Syaoran... I think. XD

Some of his more important roles are Alphons Heiderich in the Fullmetal movie, Train in Blackcat, and Kouhei in Moonphase.

Whoever this Monica is, she certainly didnt do dub CCS Sakura.

i heard Monica Rail's voice when she either accepted or presented an award on the Anime Awards, and its a really anoying voice. think of that anoying woman on Will and grace, only slightly less anoyuing than that. Monica's voice is nasaly sorta

Thank you for finally pointing that out. I tried to say that she wasn't Sakura earlier, but I was ignored about that.

monica voices kurau in "kurau: phantom memory" and possibly hikaru in "Figure 17."

i do NOT like her voice that much. i cannot imagine tht voice comming from sakura, let alone singing "you are my love"

(note: i have yet to see the trailer)

I can also confirm that Carly McKillip did the voice of Sakura Avalon in Crapcaptors. Nothing wrong with her voicing abilities but it didn't fit our heroic Mistress of the Clow.

-no one can say kurogane's name save for Yuuko
-the solution for the lack of honorifics and syaoran/syaorankun is.... ugh
-Sakura's VA is a terrible choice. i do NOT want to hear Monica Rial sing "You are my Love" >_< (no offence directed towards the actress; its just not a sutable choice)
-the kuro-nicks suck (kugy-poo..... shudders)
-and just like in cardcaptors... they dont know the proper pronunciation of "Clow"

betcha Yuuko's VA could say it tho.... she could say "Kurogane" the right way.

if the TRC dub is this awful, than xxxholic wont be any better. they wont be abel to say "watanuki kimihiro" "doumeki" or "himawari (save for Yuuko's VA)

And after getting the second DVD and watching it, it's not getting any better. The lord's son in the Chun Hyang story arc sounds like a dead ringer for Kuwabara from the English YuYu Hakusho dub.

Only thing I do like in the DVD so far is the sound editing in the Dolby Surround...very well done but be forewarned...hearing Fai go 'Woo!' will make you rip your ears out
