chapitre is french for chapter

i dunno...to appeal to the ever growing french anime/manga community? ccs was very popular over there...

for something different? i mean...sometimes they call their chapters 'acts' . besides...it's a chronicle right? to make it sound more sophistocated?

nooo idea...good question

Because Japanese society loves everything French (or "Frenchi") and European.  :sweatdrop:  Probably the same reason "Reservoir Chronicles" is in English. ;)

however the japanese pronounce english words they are still english words that are spelt in english (did that make sense)

the english language takes its roots from latin, french etc, of course there'll be words that are similar

I think the use of the French is just to give it a sophisticated look. Wonder if there are any French scanlations, cuz it'd be good practice.
