CLAMP's Famous Works > Tsubasa RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE
When will TRC reach the US and other countries?
Ruby Chan:
It should come out in the US...a lot of anime series are taken and dubbed, after all. The only thing that will differ is what channel it's broadcast on...depending on both rating and popularity.
I really hope it'll come out in the US...because that normally means the UK will get it too!

Hmm, I have doubts about it coming out on TV.
I figure it will come out on DVD pretty quick though with good subtitles.
I'd actually hate to see this come to television.
Can't even imagine how they'd tear up this great anime.
sukina:
actually, your right. There's good parts and bad. Seeing how mixed up Cardcaptors was, I'd hate to see this mixed like that. I don't want it chopped up and mixed into a blender like Cardcaptors. But I want to see it in English too! I'm so confuzzled. xP
Cardcaptor Takato:
I don't know for certain but I imagine that Tsubasa will probably be released in the U.S. sometime either near the end of this year or next year. Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Gundam SEED get licensed for the U.S. before the show even finished airing on Japanese television? They'll probably release Tsubasa DVDs in the U.S. after a couple of volumes have already been available in Japan. I seriously doubt Tsubasa will be dubbed like CC was or even aired on television. Tsubasa doesn't have enough Pokemonish-style merchandise to interest dubbing companies like Nelvana or 4Kids for them to make a profit off of. It also features characters from other more mature CLAMP series that have already been released uncut in the U.S. Imagine what would happen if Tsubasa did get an edited dub after all and the kids watched it and liked Sorata and Arashi. Then, they found out that those characters were also in X, and their parents bought them the DVDs without knowing anything about it, and then they come into the room while the kids are watching it. All heck would break out. Most likely Tsubasa will be released direct-to-DVD in the U.S. with subs and possibly an uncut dub. If by some random chance it does air on television, it would probably wind up on a network that airs uncut anime like ADV's Anime Network, though I still doubt Tsubasa will be aired on television. I hope Tsubasa gets dubbed using the same VAs that Bang Zoom used in their dub of the Sealed Card movie as I liked those VAs.
Muse_Blossom:
ah, yes, you make a very good point takako. still, there should be more promo about it if it is going to be staright to dvd series.
