I have never been a cutter, and don't plan to start. My best friend and cousin was/is a cutter (I don't know anymore), and she started almost a year ago (after my grandpa died and she hated herself because the last words she said to him were, "I hate you!"). It(was/'s) very hard to watch her go through it and hide it from her family... but she's been happier lately. The only thing was that she developed scars from them, and there were A LOT (I never witnessed her cut herself). It was really, really hard for her at her birthday party, because all my relatives (aunts) started to ask questions when they saw her arms, and she nearly cried (she was about to blow out her birthday candles, too). She lied to my aunts and said that she played "Whips" (when you take a object and hit it against your arms ((never done it))). My aunts just shook their head in disappointment. After we had the cake and everything, she took her cake outside and cried on the driveway behind one of my aunt's van. It's really hard to watch someone you know well go through something so hard.
