Poll

Believe in love at first sight?

You bet! I met this guy today  .. I'm already planning our wedding!
Sure. It could happen.
I'm not too sure. You never know, though.
Naaah. Sounds too much like a cruddy romance novel.
Pssh, you HAVE to know the person to be in love. That's just silly.
No comment. To each their own.

moezy-chan! i hope your anemia doesn't come back. i might have a hereditary blood disorder that is like anemia but it's not. it's called cooley's anemia or something like that. i'm kind of scared to have it, but i might not. so let's just hope i don't.

Thank you for the concern, and the information, but I'm almost certain that it's not hereditary. Mine was self-inflicted. I don't eat that much, I always overwork myself over the school year, and I'm a blood donor. I have type O blood which is universal and I give it, and not to mention I'm a woman that gets periods, and that causes me to lose blood, though we all already know that.  :sweatdrop: And I love you all too!

For the moment, I'm snapped out of my depression. Next Tuesday I get to actually teach a preschool classroom! I'm so looking forward to it!

OOO I love Memoirs of a Geisha! <3 <3! I saw the movie on new year's eve in theaters. It was sooooo good! the book is just awesome! I could like barely put it down. I absoutely love Zhang Ziyi! She's so beautiful and is an awesome actress! The dvd comes out on March 28th. I'm soooo buying it the first day. It was really good! The only problem was, is that it might seem a little confusing to some people who haven't read the book. Other than that, it was so absoultley beautiful! When your watching it, you feel like your actually in that time period and it was so cool to watch on the big screen.

Oo!  I wanna see and read that book so badly!  I'm gonna ask my friend to let me borrow her DVD.

Anywho, I'm really sorry to change the topic back to moodiness, but I feel HORRIBLE.  I mean, I fought with my mom (subtly, but it was there) over a test that doesn't affect me in any way.  At all.  Its a French I Honors Exam that will only matter to me if I score well; I could put it on my college application, but since I don't want to major in French OR go there or have anything more to do with it than my needed credits, it doesn't matter anyway.  But my mom was all, "YOU HAVE TO STUDY.  DAY AND NIGHT."  And I asked her why, because honestly I didn't want to take it anyway; it was forced on me because I'm rated 5th in my class and one of the other people taking it couldn't make it.  She told me because it was going to be recorded somewhere, and I still didn't understand why she was making such a big deal.  Finally she got tired of it and told me she'd ground me and take away my laptop if I didn't do well on it.

And so, I went up to take a shower and ended up sitting there for almost 30 minutes, just sitting there and thinking.  I've considerably calmed down, so I hope I didn't come across as ungrateful or rude then.  Its not that I don't appreciate her wanting me to do my best; its just that I HATE that she always expects more out of me, even when I don't care or want to do something.

And I'm done ranting now.  -sigh-

Aww! I hope you can work things out with your mom. I think your mom should be a little more reasonable about the whole thing.

Mom's usually are looking out for your well being. And it can only help with college applications trust me. I'm sure whatever you want to do, knowing french will help immensly thats why i'm taking it now...even though I suck so much at its ridiculous. Whats with all those letters that you don't pronounce?! Sorry i was better in spanish, I could get the accent down no problem, probably because I watched West Side Story one too many times ;)

Back to Memoirs of a Geisha, I didn't get a chance to read it but I did see the movie and I thought it was incredibly well done. I was able to follow it without reading the book, and now its on my list of things I need to read, right after Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy.

Again, changing the subject just a tad  :sweatdrop:

As most of you may know, I have a job at a fast food restaurant, and I absolutely hate this job with a passion! Now, this was at the first location. For those of you who know me more personally, I was transferred to a different location; my college.

My job is located on campus, and I work on average 18-20 hours a week. It's not the worst job in the world, but for a person that hates fast food, I really can't stand it. Today, in the mail I received a letter from my college. I'll type it out so you all can see. I really need some advice on this.

Dear Student:

The Center for Student Progress Orientation and First-Year Student Services is seeking qualified applicants for the position of Peer Assistant. The Peer Assistant (PA) serves a critical role in providing first-year students with quality, personalized service. PA's work with all aspects of First-Year and Transfer Student Orientation Programming and First-Year Student Services assisting in creating a positive educational experience for new students and helping students with their transition to college. A PA serves as a role model, a resource, and a crucial link between students and the University. In fulfilling the PA role, you will be working an average of 20 hours per week. In return for your service, you will receive a salary of approximately $5,582 for twelve months work, professional training at no cost, and valuable work experience while at college.

PA's must be full-time students during the regular academic year, and overall grade point average of 2.5 or better and be available to work summer semester through spring semester. PA's must be available to attend all required training, staff meetings, and dates associated with Orientation and First-Year Student Services. Since the PA position involvesa significant responsibility, PA's may not undertake additional commitments (e.g., any job, summer school, internships, student teaching, armed forces reserve) without prior approval from their direct supervisor.

If you are interested in applying for this position, the first step to complete an application and submit it to the Center for Student Progress. These are due no later than Friday, March 24th. Applications will be available at the front desk of the Center for Student Progress. Once your application and reference forms have been submitted, you will be notified if you are selected to participate in a group interview process. Group Process is scheduled for Tuesday, April 18, from 4pm-6pm. Following the group process, those candidates who are selected to advance will be granted a personal interview.

If you are selected as a PA, you will begin training in June in preparation for the Orientation programs. We look forward to your participation.

I want to accept this postion, and at the same time I don't. I still don't like my job, but I do like the people I work with. My manager respects me, and I like the customers. At the same time I want to take this job because it will actually help me to become a teacher. I'll have experience in tutoring, and assisting other students, and you all know that I love to help other people. I need your help on this minna-san. I think this might be what I've been looking for to get me out of my depression rut, but I'm not certain. What do you all thing? I'd like your insight.

I think the change would be good for you! You need something fresh in your life right now!
Like Jeanette said, you'll meet new nice people for this job, too. So no worries about that!
And there's always room for more experience, right?
