Poll

Believe in love at first sight?

You bet! I met this guy today  .. I'm already planning our wedding!
Sure. It could happen.
I'm not too sure. You never know, though.
Naaah. Sounds too much like a cruddy romance novel.
Pssh, you HAVE to know the person to be in love. That's just silly.
No comment. To each their own.

O.o I don't have any of those stores...the only thing here is Barnes & Noble, and knock-off book stores... *sighs*

Lucky for us, there is the internet.

Unlucky for me, I'm not allowed to shop on the internet. And my parents disapprove of buying too much manga. >_< Hey, can't I pursue my hobbies? Parents fail to see that their kids do anything other than homework >_<

Same here. I'm an advanced 14 year old in the 10th grade and my parents act like I'm a robot or something... This month, I got accepted into the National Honor Roll for HS students and dad tells me, "You can do better"... WAAA!!! I got an A+ and he told me I can do better!!! What's higher than an A+ !?!
><" Plus, I don't get an allowance cause my dad is so cheap, and he told me to get a job... at 14?!? My life is horrible!
At least ss soon as I turn 16, I'm outta here! (To go to college)

I never get allowance... maybe it's because I'm so lazy XD

Eh, well, I don't need it. Shopping can be a drag o.O I only shop for CDs, electronics, movies, feminine products... lol!

I'm in grade 11. My dad went back to school after his crash (truck driver), and he is doing so well. He has like 3.8, and the teachers always get mad at him because he always corrects the teachers, lol. As for me, I hate school, I'm in Applied level, but I'm not doing that bad. I have a b average, so I don't care. When my dad comes home from school and says that he did bad at a test. I look at it, and he only has one or two quesions WRONG. Its nuts. I feel bad when  I don't past. My parents are divorce. My dad doesn't belive in allowance , but my mom does. Since i'm the only girl, and the oldest, I get 20 bucks every 2nd week. Then 5 bucks for lunch every day (every 2nd week though). Also, I get extra money for being good. But my younger brother, he always bugs my mom for money, so my mom gives in. she buys new skatebords every month for 100-150 evrey time. Also he buys stuff way to much, with a high price. Every thing he buys MUST be over 100, or he won't buy it. As for me, I buy Manga, and save the rest for a raining day.

Wow, that is alot that I type

^_^ lol, hai, it is... My mom and dad taught me from a very young age to try to be excellent in everything I do....When I was 7 once, I went to school not feeling good, and got a C+ on a test...O.o I got no tv and no video games for a month! Plus, I missed my best friend's birthday party... I told my mom and Dad (when I was 10) I''m not perfect and got grounded for a year... ><; My parents are so strict(mostly Dad), they never listen to me, and tell me, When I grow up, then I can do what i want to do...>< I hate my life, if I could trade places with another kid right now, I would...

Wow that is strict. My mom doesn't really care, but my dad does. when I was in grade 6, I did very bad. My dad didn't yell, instead he had that disapointed look. I hate that look. It drives me up the wall. He always cared, and spend more time with my brothers more then me. Even my whole family. I'm the black sheep of the family. I love computers, anime, manga. they all think its weired.

Apparently a theory I heard:

Back then when parents took school, a C would be a bad grade. Even though C's now are good, parents might get mad because they could remember the time when they were little and C was bad.

We made this up at school:
A C for good people, C would stand for Cool.
A C for bad people, C would stand for Crap.

^^

Same here...When I told my parents, when we went to Japan for 3 years that I liked anime and manga and would like to buy some, they stared at me for 10 whole minutes... I kinda blushed and asked again so I conviced mom to buy me one...
(It was Pokemon) but when we came back to the states, someone stole it...

My dad is fun loving, but at the same time says, "howcome you don't get honors?" or, "you have to work very hard to be like your sisters!" it gets irritating. Why shouldn't I be myself? Everybody can't be the same >.< My mom is encouraging, but at the same time keeps repeating what I need to improve. Everytime I bring home a paper that's 88% or something, she's proud, but says, "you need to boost that participation mark up". She brings my weaknesses up everytime I talk about school! She manages to fit "you should work on your participation" into every conversation we have! My parents are like that... I'm tired of hearing what I need to improve on or do. >_<

I hate when they do that. It drives me up the wall. when I bring home a test, and I'm very happy about it, they tell me to improve.  I want to yell! How come they can't be just happy what I got. Ya, I know I have to improve a bit, but I have. A couple of years ago, I was  really bad in school. I was failing classes, and I didn't care. But my step mom told me that I have to start putting more effect into my education. So I started doing that. I came from a failing mark to a b+. And they still say I should do better. but to me, this is my level.

That's how my mom always was. Despite the fact that my sisters and brother were in special needs she would constantly compare them to me. "You see, they always do their best, but what about you?" I would get A's and B's while they got C's and D's and she still compared them to me. It was so frustrating!

And she always wanted me to get into college and now that I'm in it she'll say with no warning, "Maureen, do you really like college? Are you sure you want to go?" She pushes me my whole life to get into college, and now that I'm in it, she wants me out!

><" Plus, I don't get an allowance cause my dad is so cheap, and he told me to get a job... at 14?!? My life is horrible!
At least ss soon as I turn 16, I'm outta here! (To go to college)

I got my first job at 14.

That was my first job! I did it from age 14-17 years old. I was homeschooled at this time.
