Poll

Believe in love at first sight?

You bet! I met this guy today  .. I'm already planning our wedding!
Sure. It could happen.
I'm not too sure. You never know, though.
Naaah. Sounds too much like a cruddy romance novel.
Pssh, you HAVE to know the person to be in love. That's just silly.
No comment. To each their own.

I understand Moezy  teachery type people  (well the good ones at least)  aren't usually selfish they take on too much  than they can handle  (i know cauz my mom's one of them she's double majoring in special ed and EL ed.  but she graduates in december so hopefully she'll be fine)  they take care of everybody.

Thank you, and yes, we usually do. It's my dream to become a 2nd or 3rd grade teacher, and I still feel the need to help my family. My mother cannot do it alone. If I left her to take care of anybody else, she'd collapse, so I feel the need to help in anyway I possibly can.

My father has suffered from cancer, and diabeties, and my brother has schizophrenia and autism, and my sisters are developmentally slow, and my mother is 64 years old. She can't do it alone, which charme-chan, I cannot afford to be selfish. They need my help, and when life gets too stressful, I will always have this forum. This calms me. I can take my stress out on the keyboard and not on myself.

Kyaa, moezy-chan, I'm the same way! I'm basically a human door mat and everyone walks all over me and as soon as I complain (not even about them, about ANYTHING!) They claim I am an unappreciative person and that I whine too much when all I do is sit around and listen to their problems and make everything as comfortable as possible for them! I hardly EVER complain, but when I do, it's all: "Oh my god you ALWAYS blame your problems on other people!" or "Oh my gosh everyone is ALWAYS mad at ME!" when I'm like, NO it's YOU who is always mad at ME!  Sometimes I think SOMEONE (either me or them) is crazy, because they literally do NOT understand! It is almost freaky, like an episode of the twilight zone, where the viewer knows the main character is right, but everyone else on the show think he/she is crazy? But the audience can see the point clearly? You know what I mean? *sighs* But that's not important... OK now that I vented, I shall go back to you, moezy! Hmmm.. maybe what I really need to ask you is why do you feel like you need a guy in your life? I mean, is it a reason that needs immediate attention, or maybe could you wait until you're out of college and get your career started before you look? And you don't really need to go on a blind date, you could just ask a friend to introduce you to a guy, but act like you're meeting as friends. (Of course, your girl friend who takes you to him will be informed of your true motive, XD but then you guys could all go out as a group together first, ne?)

Wow moezy-chan...
You are so my role model.

I also understand where your coming from when it comes to taking
responsibility and being helpful for your family.
My father died of cancer when I was nine....and my older brother
passed away two months ago in a motorcycle accident.
I've come to terms with my loss, but the rest of my family takes it pretty hard.
So I have to be strong and work hard to help my family.
My mom said it's her dream to see me graduate from either
Georgia State or Georgia Tech and thats where I plan to go.....
If only I knew the occupation I want to get into. u_u

Thank you. That's very flattering. And I admire you. My father may have had cancer, but thankfully he's a survivor. It must be harder on you to lose your father and brother. My brother moved out but he's also still alive. Also, good luck with finding a major.

Let me tell you something I wish I was told when I started college. Think of the one thing you love more than anything in your life and most likely that will tie into your major. The one thing I love more than anything is children. I'm the youngest in my family, and I never had a little brother/sister, and because of that, any child that I came across I treated like my little brother/sister. It's this reason that I was able to decide to become a teacher.

Think about it, and the answer will come to you. Don't go looking for it. I looked for 2 years for a major, and teaching came to me. Your major will come to you, and it will bring you such a joy that's undescribable.

That was very inspiring. ^-^
Yeah...I still don't know what I want to major in, but your right....
It will come to me.
I've always wanted a job where I could help people. Nothing
like a surgeon though. My stomach might turn. >_<
I'm thinking more of a chemical engineer....like making
medicines and stuff.
But science was never my forte...
Hmmm....maybe Law...
BAH!!! Whatever....I've got plenty of time to think about that.

I'm not really saying I need a guy minna-san, but the fact that I've never had a guy in my life makes me curious on what it would be like. I guess that's why I want one.

moezy-chan.. i'm sorry if my comment sou ded that way- that was not my intention. What i ment was that you are too good.. and although i know you must help, you don't need to be thinking 24/7 about it. That is what i meant by saying selfish (  you have to remember english is not my first language.. so it is hard to express myself clearly *sighs*)

That's alright. I have a habit of being indignant, but I never dwell on the bad. It's not my style, so there's no need to apologize. I appreciate it though.

Funny how things turn out. Right now my cousin and sisters are all placing bets on how old I will be when I lose interest in anime (which, I strongly believe is never) :sweatdrop:

Today my oldest sister (who's nineteen) called me into her room and had a talk with me.

She talked about how she and my second oldest sister (who's 18) used (they both grew out of it some years ago) to be anime obsessives at my age, just like my cousin and me. I guess the love of anime runs in my family. Well, I knew she used an anime obsessive, but she never really talked to me about it. She showed me her old posters and fanart (mostly digimon), and even her website she created with my sister (digimon, also.) She also said some really nice things about how she was sort of happy I was an anime obsessive, because it reminded her of how she was an anime obsessive.

Then she showed me her Cardcaptor Sakura. I had completely forgotten she used to love Cardcaptor Sakura. She showed me her pictures and posters and even her Cardcaptor Sakura CD. I was so happy when she gave me the CD as an early birthday present! It was kind of my first sentimental moment between me and my oldest sister. Now I remember I have my sister to thank a lot. She was the one who first introduced me to Cardcaptor Sakura. I remember when I was six. She called me into her room and asked me if I wanted to watch a movie. I said yes, so she told me to grab a chair and watch. And the movie was Cardcaptor Sakura 2nd Movie. I liked the movie, even though I didn't understand what they were saying (I didn't understand the subtitles, either). Years later, when I was about 9, I got all anime obsessed with the anime that was shown on tv. I also remembered watching the CCS movie, so I searched some stuff about it and got obsessed with that, a lot.

Today, I still have the copy of the movie I watched when I was six. I watch it over and over again :). Now I really appreciate my sister. I guess I could say she was the one that got me into CCS. Today I have actually learned to appreciate all my sisters. I don't hate them as much as I said I have before.

Oh yeah, here's the website to my sisters' digimon site: www.geocities.com/reflect_taiora Um, I dunno if you really want to visit the site, they haven't updated for QUITE a while... *cough* a year *cough*

Oh, guess which digimon fanart of Sora is mine? (I really hated them for posting it, they didn't even get my permission)

For me it was the exact opposite. I'm the youngest in my family and I actually got my family interested in anime. One of my older sisters thought she liked anime, but it was the dubbed version of Card Captor Sakura. Thankfully I enlightened her! I even have the majority of my family talking Japanese because I'm so anime obsessed!

Hehe none of the people in my (immediate) family like anime. They also don't like it when I sing in Japanese or talk to my cousin in Japanese ("Shut up with that Japanese crap. We can't understand what you're saying!") They pretty much want nothing to do with it (anime). If I start talking about anime to one of my sisters or parents, they look disinterested, bored, and don't respond to what I say. Sheesh. It's pretty hard being an anime obsessive in my family. None of them understand why I love it so much, and my mom hates it when i buy manga or anything to do with anime. She instead wants me to spend my money on clothes *rolls eyes* which I have plenty of, thank you very much.

Like, for example, one day I was out shopping at the mall with one of my sisters and my fellow anime obsessive cousin. I saw a volume of TRC I didn't have at a bookstore. I grabbed for it. My sister immediately started shaking her head and saying, "Mom's probably not going to let you buy it." I decided to test her theory by calling my mom on my cousin's cellphone. I timidly asked my mom if I could by the TRC manga, and she immediately hit the roof, saying, "Kim don't you even think of buying that manga manga!" I immediately shot back, "It's my money!" My mom responded by saying, "NO! Stop spending your money on that manga junk! You don't need any more! You already have lots of manga!"

"I only have 13!" I cried (that's such a small amount of manga, in my opinion).
"That's a lot!" says mom.
"Talk to Nikki." I muttered. "She has 53!!!!"
"I'm not talking about Nikki. I don't care about how much she has. YOU WILL NOT BUY THAT MANGA AND THAT'S FINAL!!" Mom shouts.
I immediately feel tears coming to my eyes (It's pathetic, I know, crying over manga). "Fine."

I slam the phone shut and complain and whine throughout the rest of the shopping trip.

Geesh. She doesn't even let me buy any more anime just because they already bought me two (one complete) anime series in the Philippines. I watched them all, and she still won't let me buy any more. God.

Kyaa, that sucks about your mom not letting your buy manga! Especially TRC! Jeez, who can live without TRC?!?!  Yuki can't... Some people are so strict on anime... Once, I had a friend who really loved Sailor Moon, (Her favorite character was Mars) but her mom was really really religious and never let her buy anything anime or manga! Even though she loved those things. One day, she asked me to draw her a Sailor Mars fanart, so of course I did, and the next day she came to me crying. I obviously didn't know why, so I asked her what was wrong, and she told me her mom BURNED the picture because it was PAGAN. Then, she forbid the girl from ever seeing me again! O.O Wow, some parents are STRICT...

Oh my gosh!!! :surprised: That is so sad! Poor girl! Yeah, I can't live without TRC. I can't get the manga, but I just grab it from the internet. It's not the same, but it's the best I can do... I usually request my cousin to buy the manga and I could just borrow it from her, but... blah, it's still not the same :cries: I wish my mom wasn't so strict!

My mom doesn't like me getting manga because in Canada the price is so dang high... and mainly because she thinks that's all I do and thinks it isn't normal... Oh, and I got confused. Why did you say 'Sorry! >_<'?
