So what do you think of the song?
I love it. It makes me think of old, sad memories (which is kinda nice). And sad fanfics. And I also like Green Day. :keke: The music video is actually okay (not really relating to the song, though) :sweatdrop: But we're not talking about the music video. We are talking about the song. :tongue:

Well, I bought the American Idiot album in December last year, and that was one of my favourite songs on the disc!
But I think the lyrics are a little TOO repetative.
Just when you think the song is over...the repeat at least half of it again!
But I still like it none-the-less.

I loved it! I was really sad and I'm a su**er for sad songs. They seem to soothe me.

I love it.. "Wake me up when September ends" is soo sweet in one way.. it just fits in to everything O.o

why can't people just make a "Music Thread" because yea its a good song, but so are thousands more and that would mean thousands more threads.
but as i said its ok, not great.

It's very repetitive, and I just find it too slow....they sing it all at the same level. Plus, the video, whilst emotional and sad, had acting gaps that were ridiculously long, and disrupted the enitre song. No wonder some music channels chose to edit those bits out of the video.
Although I like Green Day, this was a disappointment to me.

Well the video does relate because their happy fun fun days are over now, and now the guy is joining the army because they need money (i assume) and can't go on living so carelessly.
As for the song, i like it, a bit repetitive but still good.

Green Day's prime has gone and past. Thier songs are alright nowadays but thier peak has gone. Thier never be as good as they used to be.

I like it. i thihk on part goes "like my father's gone to past 20 yrs have gone to fast." i think thats how it goes,....It just brings back alot of memories

One interesting thing about their last CD.......it was a last ditch attempt to hold the group together after a long while of arguing and not speaking to each other. According to a documentary, they poured all their insecurities into their songs (eg. Billy Joel wrote Boulevard Of Broekn Dreams because he feels all alone, and unable to share his songs with the rest of the group).
It was said that if this album, with all the political statements and heartfelt songs, didn't do well, then the group would have permanently broken up under the strain.

Haha it's the opposite with me, absoulutely everyone in my class likes hip hop and rap and I absoulutely can't stand it... they play it all the time!
Yes, Green Day is good, I have to admit, but some of the songs sound the same, so I get easily tired of it or bored. The songs seperately sound good, but when you listen to the CD, the songs compare the same.

The scenario in the classroom is usually like this:
Radio: "Wake me up, when September ends~"
Girl classmate: Finally........
Every girl in class: *breathes in relief*
Guy friends: ONE MORE TIME!
Radio *opening sounds of song*
Every girl in class: *groan*
One of my friends: I am SERIOUSLY going to wreck that radio one of these days!
It gets old fast. -_-

Good song, but not the best work of green day.

Its a great song, but really like Endoh and a few others said, it is repetitive.
The music video really fits in with Remembrance Day, not to mention it is very moving. (Well thats the case with me anyway :sweatdrop:)

I like the whole story of the album as a whole (the Jesus of Suburbia plotline etc.) but I'm not very fond of the song by itself. Plus it's on the radio every ten minutes over here. :confused:

I heard as well that the original album had been stolen so they remade the whole thing and the success of the remade AI kept them together.

I like it :) I've grown to like a lot more mainstream alternative recently, if you know what I mean...

Aww, come on Vex, Green Day isn't that bad. This song, and CD is alot more serious and in depth then their last ones. -^^- But, "King for a Day" is still my favorite song.

King for a Day is a Jamiroquai song aswell (the Jay Kay song is still better than Green Day)
dun get me wrong! I love Green Day the same as the next person, Just I think nowadays they are a bit overhyped
