lol..they do have similarities....but i think CLAMP didn't get the idea from kingdom hearts...rather they just make up the whole collecting 'tsubasa' thing as an excuse to let the characters crossovered in different demensions.

Now that I think about it, it is pretty similar, but I still think Tsubasa is more original concerning the romance and all. Besides it has S + S ^^. I also like Kingdom hearts too, I love that game *le sigh*

kingdom hearts involve different disney characters as crossovers...and TRC has more romance..i agree  :hehe:

But there's the fact that TRC characters can appear in different dimensions as different people (example: Touya as king, then waiter,etc) But in KH the characters keep only one identity.

but this is kinda difficult to say now....coz in kingdom hearts II, the blonde-hair boy who can wield 2 keyblades is said to be part of sora , thats when i heard really....he's in twilight town battling dusks ~ ahhh, kh is a really really really confusing story, light n dark n what-ever-stuffs, i'm confused

Your right about one thing, Clamp does play video games so they might of nicked an idea or two ^^ But I think Clamp just wanted to fullfill all of our greatest manga desires, a huge big crossover ^^

KHII jap version will probably be out in sept and the english version will probably be out in Dec. Hope they are not going to delay it anymore.

i think KHII might not make it to north america though.....coz of the case of the vibration function of sony's games...hope sony wins it, or else KHII wont make it....

even for now kingdom hearts north america version has stopped production...*sigh~* i'd better pick up jap soon...so i can understand when the dialogs all bout ~ :P it'll help in several ways, i can learn jap since i'm using the language~~

i wet for a course 2 yrs ago...when i was in secondary 3, june, then in secondary 4, i had to prep for my o lvls so i had to stop in january, till now i've been seeing mangas to juz refresh my memory on the words and all, but basically, my grammer is terrible. tried to use the dictionery to find out words which i dunno, but i ended up seeing stars....:P ehehhh~~~

KH is really a good game. It may seem childish at first but you will get hooked to the game.

In my point of view,TRC is less related from Kingdom Hearts because even though I really CLAMP fan in 9 years,they really opposite like they done in Clamp in Wonderland!!

There seems to be some popularity in crossing dimensions, that happens in some mangas i've read. though ill tell you whats really wierd; in dn angel, #5, Daisuke has to get Dark's memories back cos he is trapped in a mirror world. And guess what Dark's memories are? Feathers. So TRC - DN Angel relate with that.

i juz saw a KH card game developing in KH official site i kinda hope that TRC would have a card game too~~i'd not use to cards to fight but rather collect~ :D i can look at the pictures whole day~~

After reading over the site, it seems they are similiar but from playing KH (I love that game a lot)....There's still one thing missing, if TRC and KH are related....Who's the "Riku" in TRC? =p

Well, think of it this way, Kurogane must of been good in the beginning then he killed everyone one off in Japan resulting his exile, and now he's good again for helping out Syaoran in his very romantically-angsty hard predicament ^^ I guess Kurogane is the only I can think has some relation to Riku, well, if I do get smacked, I guess I deserve it, for thinking up something so odd. But they are pretty much the same personality-wise besides they are so hot it's not even funny ^o^

ahh...this juz come to my mind, do you mean riku's similarity in personality or the role he played in KH?

if its role...the possibility might be the mysterious person who was in chapter 73, since that person was some1 syaoran & gang knew but not the same, there is a possibilty that fye might make the bill too coz..well, i explained that in the tsubasa discussion section, its juz too long, but it might be possible if fye is evil~ :P

if its personality, i'd say the wu *something* reed guy, coz he seems to hold some jelously against clow reed, his relative. or even possibly touya in clow country~ :P

I meant as personality, but yours makes so much more sense, I just don't have a way with words :P, yeah, Fai and evil, it makes sense, I mean hes always has this 'happy-happy" facade too, *thinks hard*, I guess it does make sense, and I love your thread ^^

sakura--kairi (attitude i think~), yuffie seems to make the bill to me too~ :D
syaoran--the white rabbit (:P for some reason...i can imagine him panicking after sakura everytime....ahahah~~)
kurogane--cid (bah~they seem alike to me~~ :P )
fye--chesire cat (how to spell this...its in alice in wonderland, that purple striped cat that vanishes and leaves a grin~ :D )
mokona--chip & dale, either 1 (well...they seem alike to me~~eheheh~~~)

KHII might be released late this yr....though i'm not sure for the north america version *better mop up my jap language skills~*

i dunno....imo seishiro is bad even if he sometimes do things that benefit the good guys..coz he wants to, rather, solitary....lets see....i really think that theres no character in trc who fits riku's descriptions/personality....hummzzzz, riku's a very* confusing character, and becomes more intriguing in CoM..~~

Yup meh thinks TRC and KH are alike in more ways then one~ :3

Riku confuses me a lot. First he's all good then mysterious then bad then good then i don't know what happened to him after the ending scene (the "take care of her" part) and i think he's looking for Sora in KH2 <---sorry if i went off-topic m just a newbie so please don't kill me

Hmm... i had this funny thought in my head ever since i saw TRC: Syaoran=Sora, Fye=Goofy(well... he can be a goof-ball sometimes ^^;) and Kurogane=Donald Duck (two words: hot temper)

i dont quite think sora is like syaoran...for 1 instance, sora is quite the happy-go-lucky but syaoran is a worry-wart~ :P but i can agree that kurogane=donald (he goes kwe-e-e-e-k am i right?? :D ) and fye=goofy~~

probably one of the connections (well for me anywayz :heh:) is that Sora looks like Daisuke from D.N.Angel (the hair sorta) then the same seiyuu voiced Syaoran~ nyah~ :heh: :tongue3:

On the topic of whether they got the idea for tsubasa from kingdom heart. It might be a possiblity but I read in an interview that Tsubasa was made to give a better feel to Clamp's favorite and more non sad  love story for S + S. I also heard that Yuko's character was made as reference for all the Clamp universe and its characters.

but...seishirou is kinda on the neutral side in the "bad guy" side...i mean, look at him murdering....itz not humane at all!!

riku is kinda different...he's not neutral for the fact that he's not under ansem's control anymore and he can manipulate the darkness in a certain way that's "for protecting others" maybe itz juz me....but their personalities are like heaven and hell apart....

That's how I felt when I played Kingdom Hearts for the first time (I read Tsubasa before having KH...)
But... I would agree on the fact that Seishiirou is different from Riku.  Riku has someone he wants to protect while under the state of frustration, but Seishiirou is still the same composed, Machiavellian psychopath (less insane since he's not a Sakurazuka in this story) who knows very well what he's doing.
Yeah... Kurogane and Fai have that similarity... I think Donald's ultimate weapon was Save the Queen (Kurogane is under the service of a princess) while Goofy has the weapon Save the King (Fai was under the service of Asura- ou until he sealed the king and runs away from the source of his psychological problems)
Goofy and Fai are somewhat the same on the outside, but, deep down, Goofy is just being simple minded pacifist while Fai is knowledgeable, wise, and actually want to be killed (Kurogane realized the darker side of Fai when Fai was reluctant to retaliate against the ghosts in Outo.  Asura- ou, what did you do???).

my, that´s an interesting analysis *blinks*  and I happen to be also a huge fan of KH hehe.........

now I kinda see characteristics from both Donald and Goofy also in Fai and kurogane but mixed, like well Donald is the one with the bad temper and Goofy is the one who is just happy and care-free ^^u

but I guess in the end most fantastic stories with the main plot involving clasic fantastic travel with a warrior, a wizard and a hero can have these coincidenses (sp?)

i juz went to look at some magazine scans and for some reason....syaoran seems to be able to resemble the new blonde hair kid who can double-wield keyblades....until his personality is confirmed that is~ :P but itz juz my guess since he looks...serious....in his cg & the scans *ya know, the strong & silent type*~ :D

seriously...i hope that TRC will have an RPG game or something like that~ :D *prays* though....for KH, i dunno how many* times i died fighting coz i'm juz no good at real-time actions....i'm more of the "battle-scene" types and sitting wif my fruit juice & celery~ :D halfway, i juz gave up and asked my bro to help me ply...*since he's quite a pro at zelda...* and i'll juz pop in to watch the scenes, cheer him on & puzzle-solve~ :D

Well, the characters in both titles travel to different worlds, but I think there's not really any difference in the long run... That's how I understand this topic.

i don't think it is ..i remember a while ago i read an article about this a while ago and CLAMP said they have been planning this for years even before KH sooo in the interview they said they made CLAMP in wonderland as a lil reminder to themselves to start tsubasa. They would have started it earlier but they wanted to do the dimension thing with there characters and since they were just starting off they didnt have many characters to mess around with. So they waited until they had the popularity, the super cool characters (with developed personalities and a whole load of fans *points to all of you*) So basically tsubasa has been in the making for years now even before KH..
I'll see if i can dig up the interview for all you guys =)  >.<* hope i can find it

hey! i'm suddenly interested in Kingdom Hearts!!! can anyone tell me what it is about besides those i have read on the website? is it an anime? manga?

It's two video games (KH I and KH II) but there is a manga as well, I believe.

CLAMP's world cross over came in to Idea in 1994, with the CLAMP in Wonderland Music video, and as well as what if artbook drawings, one picture has Kamui from X with his sword, with the refelexion of Ashura, the second, matching Kamui with a sword too, so it's safe to say, TRC started to come to plan some where in 1997 or 1999, when CCS was ending or had already ended. For your information, CLAMP is having another CLAMP in Wonderland II music video, Maya Sakamoto is singing it I think, it should come out in August, it will have their work of old and new, I just wounder what it will look like.

Can't add any other comments since I haven't watched/played Kingdom Hearts.

no wonder Sora is so cool!!! hahax.. i haven watched/played it before.. Don't have PS2 in the first place.. will most prob rent the manga ^^

yeah...its just some similar.but the differents are
1)syaoran had clone while sora not
2)syaoran has a bad side while sora not(or yes???)
 think thats all i can remember.........

Actually in KH-2.....[WARNING : totally SPOILER!! for those who haven't play kingdom hearts-2 and planning to play it and for those who haven't reach the last place ]

this is quite complicated and difficult to understand if you haven't play kingdom hearts -1. Anyway, Sora has other self in separate body called 'Roxas', frankly, Roxas is Sora's 'Nobodies' that was born when Sora become 'Heartless' in the first series (in short, these 'nobodies' and 'heartless' things can be said the antagonist in the story). So, it can be said that this Roxas is suppose to be evil 'clone' of Sora, though they have totally different appearance, the same things is only the way they fight. BTW Roxas 's name is the anagram of Sora plus X  word. But in fact, this Roxas is not a bad guy after all, the organization he's in is the bad one.

So overall, SOra and Syaoran do have a lot of similarity ^^
