Have you read the first manga chapter? It looks really intriguing, and even if the character design is the only thing Clamp are involved in there is something in the story which makes me think these guys were influenced by Clamp.

CLAMP definately took Kamui's character design, for that character. Even the eyes. XD I'm excited to see if his personality matches at all.

Damn, this actually looks good. Also good to know CLAMP is doing the character designs. Not to mention the animation itself looks brilliant.
Also, I believe Jun Fukuyama (watanuki's seiyuu) is doing the voice of the main character. Which is also nice to hear.
&& Just from the promo, I wouldn't be surprised if those who are behind all of this are CLAMP fans. Lol.

There is no word that any group is fansubbing this series so far.
One person did say that they were going to fansub but how long it'll take or whether this person will fansub it is unknown at the moment.
I do hope someone subs this because I just watched the second ep and it's getting so much better.

I've watched the first two episodes and read the manga. It's really interesting so far, and really addicting for some reason I cannot express (because I have no idea myself :XD:)

I only watched Gundam Wing so I know it's not the mobile suits XD
I think it's partly the art for me, as an art student I have to like the art to get into it, no matter how good the story may be.
Other than that I don't know, it just is addictive stuff!

I hope it gets subbed soon as well, it's becoming quite interesting. There's been a person posting on the code_geass LJ community that's from a sub group asking for input on terminology and spellings, so it's being worked on (just taking a while). There'll be a sub eventually.
I've watched the first two episodes and read a few summaries (plus the manga that's out so far), so I understand what's going on for the most part, but it would be nice to know what's being said. In the first episode Jun Fukuyama still sounded a bit like Watanuki, but by the end of the second he had completely fallen into the role. Evil "mwahaha" and everything, I love anti-heros. XD

The mkv file version is indeed annoying. Especially since according to the group, there's like 1 player that it works properly in and it's not the player I use and I don't see the necessary need to download a new player for one series no matter how good it is or how much I like it. Especially since the player in question was one I had before since I was told it played ogm files but couldn't get it working right right so I uninstalled and deleted it.
The mkv file does "work" in VLC but only the subs on the opening and ending look pretty (and you have to remember to click on the subs, they don't automatically appear).
I'm hoping another group starts doing it but I'm willing to put up with gg as it's better than nothing.

All you really need is the CCCP codec pack, I can play the file in PowerDVD. I have to rename the file as an .avi to trick the player, but it works for me.
GG also had quite a few errors in their translation...mostly minor, except Show content
at the end of the episode where Lelouch orders the soldiers to die. Instead of him saying his full name, Lelouch V. Brittania, they only have him say his first name and the order for them to die. His true name is crucial to the story!

Hm. The sub didn't seem too bad, as far as translations. Made more sense then the raw, at least.
'Course, it crashed VLC once or twice... >>; It played better in MPlayer on my compy, but I'm not sure if it's Windows compatible, if anyone wants to give it a shot. :/

I checked their site again and saw that they have links to where you can download the CCCP codec pack. So I downloaded it and the mkv file again to see if it works.

I've just started trying to find things, but I'd like to read some of the manga before watching the anime. How much is out and where can I find translated stuff? I've been to the LJ community but it only has raws.

Translations for the raws are posted on the community, there's only two chapters out currently (it's only started serialization last month).
The manga and anime have some major differences, but Lelouch's circumstances are pretty much the same. The anime only has two episodes and they cover pretty much what the manga covers, only with much more violence and action. The manga covers quite a bit more on Lelouch's school life, but that looks like it's going to start being shown in the anime in episode 3.

I think, for me at least, it is definitely Lelouch. How many heros do we get that we can't completely trust the sanity of? (...do we count Raito in Death Note? >>) Anyway, the art is simply amazing. I've watched those two episodes several times now, and I never do that with any anime. I watch it once, then maybe months later I'll watch it again. In a course of three days I've watched it about 5 times, each. Its really strange that I'm so into it, but I'll go along for now.

On gg's site (Those who sub code geass) you can download codex packs, after you downloaded them you can play the mkv files. That's what I did :).

Suzaku/Lelouch ftw
The plot is really intruiging and the characters are interesting.
Lulu is such a crazy wonderful anti-hero and Suzaku is a wonderful love interest contrasting character for him.
CC is also one of the best anime females I've seen in a while! She is so spunky!
CLAMP have really dragged me into something good here, because I very much doubt I would have tried this show if not for their input.
Oh, and remember:Â Pizza Hut supports the rebellion!

this is the first time I see Lelouch's face that funny, all panic and that....^^, coz since the beginning his face is always serious or has that cunning-smile...especially when he see the cat wearing the mask, his scream is so cute...XD...
If i'm not mistaken , at the beginning of the episode, when Euphemia looking at Clovis's drawing, she sees the picture of Lelouch and Nanaly and their mother when they still live in Britannia castle or somewhere like that, and I'm thinking maybe Clovis not all that bad, so it's pity that lelouch already killed him :(
oh, can anyone tell me if the anime has any different with the manga, in the story I mean..

There's actually two mangas. 'Lelouch of the Rebellion' and 'Suzaku of the Counterattack'.
The one I mainly follow is the 'Lelouch' one, which has changed some things from the anime version. For example Suzaku at the beginning is already attenting the same school as Lelouch, C.C was being transported on a plane/jet that crashed, the rebels try to vandalize the school one night which is when Lelouch realizes that Kallen is a rebel (and he ends up helping them escape). I like it but I find the art isn't as pretty as the anime (they look younger in the manga).
The 'Suzaku' one also slightly differs from the anime but has art closer art to it. It starts when Suzaku finds Lelouch in the crashed truck (in this version, like the anime C.C is on a truck). Lelouch doesn't have to escape like he does in the anime though and he takes C.C with him since he knows she's alive (at least I think he knows she's alive but I've only seen the raw of it). Zero appears a lot sooner in this version by attacking Clovis' limo and killing him.

That's weird, when you have that codex pack you should be able to see them. I'm sorry I think I can't help you with that problem.....(The only thing I can think of is if you try to play them in a different media player.)Too bad they don't realese the episodes in avi format too, which is much more ordinary file format....

I liked that episode very much, it's good that you get to see more of Lulu's life in school and not just when he goes crazy *laughs*. I got quite surprised when Lulu yelled like that when he saw the cat with the mask. Besides, it's soo cute to see him and Suzaku together ^^

@kuro-puppy --- maybe try to rename the .mkv to .avi... maybe your player is kinda picky like my power-dvd. i am using zplayer and media player classic to watch mkv file. i believe both player comes together with cccp codec pack.
If it won't play try to uninstall all the codec you have and reinstall again the cccp. sometimes it crashes with other codec.

Clamp only did the character designs for the anime right and nothing else right? pheh! i have a hard time believing that, since i just watched episode 4 and the story is really intrueging. Suzaku is completely acting like Syaoran would and other stuff. This just smells like something Clamp would make. ^^

I was so sad when Shirely realized that Lelouch was about to erase her memory and she screamed out no, but too late. Lelouch erases all of her memories of him... I teared up... Lelouch really does care about Shirely... and that shows that Lelouch hasn't exactly gone down the same path as Light from Death Note.... I'm always afraid Lelouch is going to turn into person like Light.... I dono't want him to >_<

just seen episode 19. Theres some changes in opening theme. Its very nice and relaxing episodes... and another mystery person appeared. Its very fast you have to play it frame by frame to capture it.

Oh god! This scene is just like RG Veda all over again!! I actually liked her, and now Lelouch or Suzaku is probably gonna kill her for that.
I just hope SunRise pulls another plot twist so that she lives, but that's just wishful thinking

2nd season will start airing in July but i'm not sure. What i AM sure of is that it's gonna rock the world and i can't wait for Suzaku and Lelouch to fight eachother ^^

I read about a 1 hour special airing of code geass.. the reason why they had the final episode this late was due to the second season.. They had to remake a bit of it to fit the 2nd season plot... or so I have read.. well.. they're just speculations but its obvious isn't it...
Hmm.. I sure hope that sunrise will make a special edition out of it with additional footage just like what they did to gundam seed/seed destiny.. I'm stil downloading the promotional video for the final episodes.. :XD: can't wait!!

- the story became too complex that its hard to make a satisfaying closure
- the anime was too popular

i think thats a rumor too.... actually mbs is going to air code geass again starting october 27. BTW, both gundam and geass air on the same day/same tv station in tokyo. Geass took the 5:30 pm tokyo time slot then gundam 6:00 pm.

i think you all got me wrong.... The tv station is having a rerun for FIRST SEASON in october 27.... not the second season.
Just hope that after they air the first season we shall have the second season .... But i doubt....
