stumbled on something interesting while hunting for DMC combo vids. Enter this code behind the url of a youtube vid and press enter
&fmt=18
Now you can watch the video in High Quality. Did a little check on my Fate transformation vid:
normal: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ShqTnkyDQGA
with the code: http://youtube.com/watch?v=ShqTnkyDQGA&fmt=18
The normal version clearly has pixely view while the one with the code has almost no pixels showing at all and is near perfect watching quality. Quite a nice trick to know ^_^

Nice trick, though for some videos it isn't needed (like my own, which was uploaded in high quality)
I'll use this trick on some of the vids I have noticed are low on quality, thanks Kuro :)

You're welcome. And eh...how do you upload in High Quality on youtube? Can't find the option for it.....
-
That's what I want to know; only that the quality of the uploaded version and the one on my desktop are the same.

that's odd.....
oh well, doesn't matter that much now that we have the code for it ^^

Except the code doesn't work on certain videos though =(

maybe got something to do with the size. Most vids on youtube don't use the full screen of the player

True true :)

Why does that small piece of code change the video quality?
is it a release function so that the lower quality takes less time to load?
or rather it removes the streaming quality and uses the original quality that was uploaded with.
Very nifty tho, thanks!

I don't actually see any difference.
But I've noticed some videos uploaded to YouTube have insane quality.
For instance: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2auMj5PFzI

Yeah the DMC 4 story vids are also uploaded in HD. Seems to be a special option or something but it does slow down loading the vid (have to load a 8 min long vid for 3 min of footage).

It does work! thank you for sharing hehe... but yeah, in some videos wont work... what it does, it's expand the size so it will clear the view and looks better! hehe.
-
darn it doesnt work in MANY videos >_<
yeah. i checked it with like .. tons of HSJ videos T^T
-
While it helps in some videos on YouTube, it does NOT affect all of them. Those downloaded in a higher quality will show an obvious difference since on most computers, the videos download to the viewers are usually the same quality.

There's another way....encoding
I'm trying to learn it but it's proving to be quite difficult. Here's the tuturiol video of how to upload in Very High Quality!!!

Uploading in High Definition is also possible but I can't find a tutorial for that one >.<
