This is a thread for any fans of Kurogane....and his silly nicknames!
Post here, and include speculation about him too!
Both Kuro/Tomoyo-hime and Kurogane/Fai fans welccome here!
-
I really love Kurogane ^________^ He's cool and I like his character, care for everyone but never express Hee~
I'm Kurogane/Tomoyo fan :D
-
Great thread!
I love Kuro-chi so much.
I think he will learn a lot from his friends and they will learn from him.
I am a Kuro/Fai fan!!
Hope that they are kept together.
I am waiting for when Kuro-sama decides that he doesn't want to go back home, but wants to stay with them. I think that will happen.
-
Same here...and I like the couple Kurogane/Fai too!
You can already see him opening up a lot, and although he said he wouldn't help at the start, he did....he could have just waited until the group got the feather, then left with them.
-
***You can already see him opening up a lot, and although he said he wouldn't help at the start, he did....he could have just waited until the group got the fetaher, then left with them.***
I think so too. He's becoming a father to Syaoran, training him with his sword and everything.
At some point I feel that he will choose to stay with them.
Maybe that is his lesson.
I think now that Kuro-sama felt an obligation to protect Tomoyo. I'm not sure if it was anything more than that. I do think though that maybe Souma had a crush on Kuro-sama. The way she reacts after he is sent away.
-
Souma and Kurogane? Never thought of that one, but that would be interesting. Although I'm secretly hoping for Kuro/Fay. I kinda doubt it will happen, but then CLAMP does have a thing for shounen-ai, so who knows. ^_~
I think Kurogane would be bored out of his mind just sitting around and not fighting, so that could have been the reason he starting helping them in the beginning, but then he started getting attached. ^^ I think Kurogane's the kind of guy who needs something to fight for, and without a Tomoyo-hime to protect, he protects Sakura and Fay (kawaii!) and gives guidance to Syaoran, and now he's just as loyal and attached to his new group as he was to Tomoyo.
-
hm...did CLAMP draw kurogane with black clothes and Fai with mostly white clothes to sort of represent yin and yang?
-
o.O that's a good question. i just noticed that since you mentioned it...
i'm starting to really like kurogane. XD he's pretty cool. i like tomoyo and kurogane together though. i doubt there's going to be many scenes with these two but i still really like the pairing. XD
-
maybe kurogane recognises the fighters spirit in syaoran
-
I'm another KuroFai fan. :p I think their personalities and strengths/weaknesses compliment each other surprisingly well. And despite how it may seem initially, I don't see any real animosity between them. Fai loves to tease Kurogane and Kurogane eventually gets used to it. ^^; I read a comment by someone on another website that said there is a rivalry between them... which I completely don't see. It doesn't seem to me that they ever try to compete or get ahead of one another... really, I think their strengths and weaknesses are just too different for them to react that way torwards each other. Although, back to Fai's teasing... for some reason, many times, it seems like Fai is subtly flirting with Kurogane by teasing him. I can't remember exactly what they were at the moment, but I remember a few comments Fai made torward Kurogane made me raise an eyebrow, and I looked at my roommate (who I watch most of my anime with, lately) just to see if she seemed to react the same way, and she had the same expression on her face. ^-^; But maybe we're just reading too much into it. (Even if we are, though, it's still fun.)
Kurogane and Tomoyo together just seems so... wrong. No offense to those who support that pairing, but for me, there's just too much of an age difference between them. I'm not certain of their exact ages, but Tomoyo looks like she's still a kid, and Kurogane looks... much older. It would seem a little like pedophelia to me. I'm not always against a relationship between an adult and a teen in fictional relationships, but this one just isn't working for me. Nevertheless, I do love both characters. Particularly Tomoyo, since she was one of my favourite characters from Cardcaptor Sakura. ^-^
-
***Although, back to Fai's teasing... for some reason, many times, it seems like Fai is subtly flirting with Kurogane by teasing him.***
Yeah, I think that's why Kurogane reacts so over the top when Fai teases him.
He's supposed to be a big tuff Ninja, he can't put up with that!
But yeah, in later chapters the teasing gets more physical and Kuro-chi's reactions funnier and all in all I think they are both enjoying it.
-
I'm not sure when I first began to like Kuro/Fai...never even thought of it at first. Then one day boom! It clicked, and I suddenly like Kuro-wan a whole lot more.
I think Kuroagen enjoys the teasing Fai gives him, which is why he protests so much, like you said. If he protests enough, maybe no one will notice that he likes it realy? LOL
-
I think that they will all be transported to Fai's world, because I believe that Ashura has one of Sakura's Feathers.
Can you imagine the look on Fai's face when they land there?
I have the feeling that Fai will recognize his land and want to run.
Maybe not want to get the feather because he knows he'll have to face Ashura.
I'm sure he'll make the choice to get the feather and get over whatever has happened to him.
With Kuro-chan's help of course.
-
Yeah, and Kurogane would just be like....
K: What's wrong with the idiot?
Sy: Hmm? Oh...umm, Fai-san?
F: We have to get out of here...NOW.
K: This is your world isn't it...the one you're running from?
*silence*
K; Running never solves anything.
For once in his life, Kurogane's never turn away from a fight policy would be right!
-
I can totally see that, Ruby Chan.
Hmm, I'm thinking of making a little thing showing how Kurogane and Fai's relationship is changing, starting with things like:
The first time they saw eachother
The first time Kurogane yells at Fai
The first time Fai calls Kuro-chan a name...
and all the other times like that I can find.
I'll have scans of each moment.
Is anyone interested in seeing it?

sure^^
Kurogane has an interesting way of using forks and spoons -recalls to vol. 4- did you see the way he was trying to sip soup with his spoon? :haha:
-
I'd love that Sakaki!
Yup! Kurogane can't use cutlery to save his life! He's a chopstick man, through and through!
-
***I'd love that Sakaki!***
Okay, I'm getting to work on it!
Got the pictures mostly planned out.
-
Hey I'd like to see that too. Its been a long time since you posted that.
-
Heh, kind of got sidetracked on that one.
I still want to do it though. Need to find the time to get
all the scans together. :sweatdrop:
-
There was a discussion going on chibiyuuto's journal about Kurogane's scar on his left hand... I never noticed he had one before! But someone even went through the manga and highlighted all the points where you can see it: http://www.livejournal.com/users/chibiyuuto/42225.html?thread=1009905#t1009905
Supposedly it was left out on the color picture of chap. 34, but in the tankuban it was added back in, which means it must be important. (just curious, does anyone have the tankuban with chap. 34 that they can scan? I'd like to see it)
-
I noticed his scar, too! First thing I thought: "Oooh! Kamui scar!" LOL! I think there may be a significance to it, too, although they haven't even mentioned it, yet. Like Chi. And Ashura. And the two bad guys. And everything else on Tsubasa that they constantly show but never say anything about...
-
I can't help wondering if maybe it's a sign of a painful past...I mean, they all seem to have one other than Sakura, right? Kurogane seems to strong and tough....but he's shown enough of him to let us know that he DOES let emotions get the better of him sometimes. I just wonder whether something happened when he was younger, and that's why he became so gruff....like maybe he was fighting to protect somebody, and failed, resulting in their death? Maybe he got the scar in that fight?
Hmm...it could tie in to his 'hatred' of people like Fai too....maybe the person who died was sort of like Fai, and the blonde brings back painful memories for Kuro-muu?
-
Kyaa, Ruby chan, I didn't think of that! (That maybe he lost someone and Fai reminds him of that person..) That'd be interesting, ne? But anyway, now that we've mentioned that scar on here, it's really starting to bother me! Everytime I see him I look for it! XD
-
I only just read chibiyuuto's blog, and after that, I was driven to look for the scar in the manga. At first I thought it was just a line to show bone/muscle on the hand, but I looked closer, and it really does resemble a scar. That's probably why it was such a pain when he got hurt in the Dragonfly Race.
I never noticed it before, and now it's bugging me. I guess Fai and Syaoran are not the only ones with a mysterious past.
-
I never really noticed that either... I thought it was just a shadowing that CLAMP was doing. lolz
-
Nani?! Kurogane has a scar on his left hand, never noticed that before.
I have a scar on my right hand *so close, yet so far*Â
Well, you can't have everything ne? :D

Awe! That sucks! >_< My friend's eyesight is way worse in her left eye than her right eye and that makes her all mad because of Seishirou! XD (Yuki's eyesight is the same in both eyes! O.o Weird, ne?)
-
kinda weird yeah
-
Wow! That's weird! I just realised...I have a scar on my right hand....so kinda like Kurogane's....and I play him a lot too!
Heh...Kurogane's turned into my favourite character now...although I prefer the way he's drawn in the manga - the anime's softened up his trademark eternally-on-my-face scowl.
-

How interesting, Ruby Chan! =D I don't think I have anything in common with any of the characters..@_@

I prefer the manga drawn Kurogane too. In addition to the scowl, somehow the anime Kurogane looks less muscle-y. X3
-
Yeah, plus in the anime he seems less well developed and less of a stern, formidable character. He's more of a selfish idiot than the stubborn warrior we're all used to reading in the manga.
But I do like watching his fight scenes in the anime - especially the one with the oni, and the later one with Seishirou!

Yeah, I agree.. He just seems so much more mature and powerful in the manga than in the anime... We also can't see how much he cares for the group in the anime! Maybe when it gets to Shurano in like, a million years, we can see that. ((Because of that thing he did for Syao Syao))
-
*sigh*
i feel really sorry for Kuro-chan after reading those latest chapters (especially 96)
It's no wonder he became so cold! His daddy was fighting to protect his people too, and look at what happened! So now Kurogane simply fights to get stronger! So he can have his reveeeenge!!! (my theory anyway)
-
Agreed, Meowzy!

I can just imagine the survivor's guilt he has now. T__T No wonder he wants to be so strong... he wants to be able to protect the people he cares about from now on, since he couldn't protect his family. T_T And yeah, no wonder he's so cold, too! I just realized though, Kuro hasn't gotten his scar yet (I think). I wonder what's going to happen to him now that he's met Souma and Kendappa?
-
Fill me in, someone? I haven't got that far yet......what happened in his past?
-
Ruby Chan:

Basically everyone died. T__T What looked like Fei Wong's arm came out of a dimension hole and stabbed his mother (in front of his eyes), and a demon/goblin ate his father so there was nothing left but his arm holding Ginryuu. And the village burned to the ground. o_O At the end of 96, Kendappa shows up with Souma and introduces herself as the empress of Japan.
-
Thankyou! And also.......wow!
I feel so sorry for him.....at least now we know why he's so focused on growing strong, and being tough! I wonder though.....why did that happen to his village? Was it foreseen that he'd be a part of the quest for Sakura's feathers?
And yay! Something else to add into my KuroFai fic! Kuro-muu, you better be extra glad Fai got your sword back for you!
-
 His past is so sad
I didn't know all that stufs!!!!
poor kurogane, i like his character and personality, but sorry Kurorin, Fye is MINE!! :laughing4:
-
.....why did that happen to his village? Was it foreseen that he'd be a part of the quest for Sakura's feathers?

Well, his mom was the miko who was holding up the kekkai/wards that protected the territory from goblins, so when she died, they all invaded. T_T
CLAMP still hasn't explained the connections to Fei Wong or the feathers yet... they'd better give us some answers next week!!
-
It's almost hard for me to believe that we're now finally learning about the past of one of our major characters.
Show content
Chapter 96 is so sad. Poor Kurogane was ... crying! I bet it will turn out to be one of those "I haven't cried since then" incidents. And I loved how he took up his father's sword like that ...
Things are finally piecing together as far as Kurogane's concerned. I also can't wait till we see how he gets the scar ... I guess that means Kuro-pon still has more pain to endure before he becomes the Kurogane we originally met.
Now that I know that Fei Wong has something to do with Kuro's past, I bet Clamp will tie all of their pasts together: Fai, Syaoran, Sakura ... and all the source of their problems will come from Fei Wong, which would further emphasize the idea of "hitsuzen." That all of them were destined to find each other and defeat the cause of their pain.
Oh, and I give a cookie for the translation, Pikari!! ^__^ Arigatou gozaimashita!
-
Personally, I think it's about time we started learning about the characters' pasts. We're in Volume 13 already and we're just now learning about Kuro's past, and we know next to nothing about Fai's past or, for that matter, Syaoran's past. I think I remember reading somewhere that Clamp was planning about 21 tankouban or so, so we're probably over half-way through the series.
And the scar... I hadn't noticed the scar, either. Wow. Interesting.
-
I think it was good though, for Kurogane to be introduced without any angsty memories of his life straight away. It gave him time to develop a character before we all went 'so THAT'S why he's like that!' If he'd been introduced with that history straight away, I don't think that he would have had the same impact as a strong, capable person - he would be labelled as 'the one with the angsty past'.

Excellent point, and one I hadn't thought of. Kuro and Fai's pasts both would probably have overwhelmed the present if we'd known the stories.

Waaah, only about 21 are planned?! And we JUST now started getting ANYWHERE with the story in vol. 13?! Wow, CLAMP is gonna have to hussle cuz we don't know squat about Fai, Syao Syao, Fei Wong Reid, Sakura's wings, ANYTHING! *sighs* Watch something happen and they leave us hanging there like in X, Legal Drug, and a few other manga... *sweatdrop*

God forbid! Do not speak such things, or it may become truth!
And don't quote me on the 21 volumes thing- it's just a rumor I heard. I forget where I heard it, but I think it was a fairly reputable place... But once again, don't quote me. Wow, I sound like some middle-school gossip. *sweatdrop*
Anywho... let's just keep waiting for chapter 97, shall we?
-
I didn't notice the scar on Kuro's hand b4 .... Wow, it's really interesting but I looked in the old manga pages and can't fin the scar on Kuro's hand . O.o
Ano... it's on left or right hand ?!
-
It's on his left hand. Pikari had posted a link to chibiyuuto's journal where she shows some of the places where you can see the scar. http://www.livejournal.com/users/chibiyuuto/42225.html?thread=1009905#t1009905
-
Poor Kuro-chan... Hey, now we know why he doesn't like to befriend people! he's afraid that if he likes them too much, he won't be able to protect them, and it'll be just like with his parents. he'd go maaad! ^^'
-
wow, thanks hoshisenshi 4 the info ! ^________^
-
My fav char is ofcourse Kuro :D he is so cool ^__^
awh... I read those thingies about Kuroganes past...so..so....sad...poor Kuro ._______. (now I really want read all books and not wait when del rey puplished those books).
I didn't know that was scar... I I thought it was only somekind 'armline' or something. That's good that we have fans who has keen eyes to noticed these things :)

XD Yeah, I thought it was a hand line for a looong time until a couple months ago I was like "that line sure is always in the same place and sure does look the same as how they draw the scars on Kamui's hands... so maybe it's a scar?" But since it was never even *mentioned* (like EVERYTHING else in Tsubasa...) I was never quite sure, but now I am, of course. But anyway, Sabrina-san, have you read the latest chapter? Cuz now we finally see where the scar came from! :3 (I'd say, but I dunno if you like spoilers!)

Well I haven't read because I'm kind of lazy to "read" newest (and I had only time to spend in internet at weekends only..sob)....I have only Del Rey's english translations read, but soon I'll download those chapters to my kingston traveler (datastick or what it is in english) and watch them in next week...
Well, I love spoilers...because I'm kind of curious what will happen in Tsubasa ;)

Darn it....scanner won't work when I have two more fanart to scan T___T (one Kurogane art and Fai art too :P)

honestly..i watch TRC is because of Kurogane!! :XD: well..actually i'm searching for a new type of anime that i can watch and it happens to be TRC! well..starting in episode one.i kind a like the idea of CCS character in it since i'm a big fan of CCS itself!! and..the anime flows kind a slow in the beginning but i decide to watch all over it in episode 3 and that is the time when i really began to fall for this anime! Kurogane characters really attracts me well..since not to mentioned, his bad tempered, stubborn, but still kind hearted are the main charm that i'm really into him.. :inlove: for me...when he taught Syaoran how to use the swords, i was really touched, for me, he doesnt look like a father for me, but more like a big brother who teach his beloved youngest brother on how to be strong!! even people around him would say that he is cold, emotionless, but deep inside his heart, i guess he's very gentle to someone that he care! :hehe: yeah..one thing i like for sure, when he tried to be serious, he ended up been teasing up by Fye and Mokona!! so funny!how cute!! :inlove:
