Title: One piece!
Post by: Okamirei on July 13 2005, 12:12 pm: Has anyone read the manga or seen the anime 'One Piece'? heh, I bought the saw the anime awhile ago, and read one of my friend's mangas.I absolutaly love it! :greengrin:
My favourite characters would be luffy and Zoro! :keke:

Really funny manga, I recommend it to everyone :okay:

Post by: Shinigami Zero on July 13 2005, 02:49 pm: Any anime that has it's main character use a ship's mast as a weapon every once in a while, and also have a tri-wielding badass is okay in my books. Plus it is about pirates, yo.

The best part is totally a tie between Afro Luffy's battle with the Fox Dude, and the Zoro fight where he finally learned how to cut steel. And throw buildings.

I like it because it can be really funny and really entertaining. This series is nothing but adventure, so at times it can get pretty lengthy and the fight scenes can be less exciting than the past ones, but it's the characters that keep me glued to the series. Each character is so interesting with their own characteristics and story life, you can't help but like them. In which I love ALL the characters in One Piece, excpet the bad guys of course (who can be very irritating).

The fourth was good (especially since the infamous Gomu Gomu no Ikebana reappeared ^^), but the fifth was kinda boring since it had Zoro doing nothing for a good 90% of the movie. x_X;;

Ah...

But I don't really like what's happening to it over here in good ol' North America.
You see, 4Kids got their paws on it, and... *sigh* Poor Sanji's voice. And the development of characters in general. You never stood a chance... *shakes head*

And then VIZ went off and used 4Kids translations, whilst also dulling down the cursing and putting more fake-pirate talk in. *sigh*

Anyway,I've read up to chapter 372, seen the second movie, Jango's Dance Paradise and King of Soccer dreams or whatever it's called, as the first five episodes subbed, and episode 26 subbed. ... Don't ask how that happened.

And... *sigh* I ... Well, I like all of the Strawhats, really... Well, I like most of the characters, really...

And, yeah.

*cough* Yeah, if you think you're the only one who hated it, then boy-oh-boy, you haven't seen the Sanji fangirl communities, have you?

Yeah, so, I'm actually surprised 4~~shame~~Kids didn't slap James'/Pegasus' voice on him. Though now I kinda wish they had. I mean, anything is better than what they have now, in my opinion...

And my brother figured they'd give him a french accent, 'cause of his sauveness or something.

Speaking of accents, am I the only one who thinks they're a bit, uh... Not used well in the dub?

... Unless I had watched the dub recently. Then all I can hear are the 4Kids voices... *shudder*
Actually... I think I've forgotten what kind of voice I hear for Sanji. I must find out again soon... *runs off to find some scans*

I keep hearing things about voices that could have been done better, so it kept me away from the anime. It was like when I heard the american voices for FMA. I haven't watched any unsubbed anime since. :sad5:

Sanji ain't smoking anymore, his voice makes him sound like he's got some sort of cold. Luffy is pronounced "Loofy", Zoro is "Zolo", "Gomu Gomu" is now "Gum Gum" and the "Going Merry" is the "Merry Go". Me and my friend really hate 4Kids. heh. Heck, I think the only character they did OKAY was Shanks. I liked his voice. Zoro's voice was okay I guess.

Unfortunetly, I am forced to watch the dub since I can't seem to dowload One Piece episodes. Right now, the english version is in the Arlong arc.

hehe, yeah when I first saw a picture of Sanji I expected him to have a light french accent, but then when I watched the anime he sounded like he was from Boston or something @__@

I agree with you. I love the manga and the anime. I kind of like the accent. The anime is really good. And the manga too. Its just so funny. ^_^
