College?! And to think we're in third year high school and we're taking up the subject....now I'm scared what we'll take once we reach 4th year......Calculus?!

Trust me when I say this, college isn't as hard as people perceive it to be. If anything, it's actually easier than high school. Sounds unbelievable, but it's true. Chances are, you'll learn to love it! I did!

Another forum which I frequent had discussed the meaning of a word which thread ran into in excess of 138 pages long. This word is Nobacherie and it was allegedly meant to mean the French for chimpanzee. After the initial analysis, it turned into a forumwide effort to decipher its meaning, with taunts and pseudo-clues thrown in by the moderators. Eventually, it got a bit OTT, and admin had to explain the very disappointing origin of the word. After a forum clean-up this month the thread was deleted after 9 months of toil, because the mod say that the thread was 'too long'. Anyways, many has not thrown the word away and still use it. There was an attempt previously to put it in Wikipedia, which fail. But thankfully, the thread was archived (mostly) and a lot of poems, compositions and amusing speculations have not gone down the drain!

Just thought I'd share this story to all of you. Such is the power of a made up word! This a cult!

*prays that moezy-chan is right* I want to have a scholarship though...that way my parents won't have to pay anything.

Study hard, be dilligent, and you'll get that scholarship. Also, here's a tip, choose a college in the state that you live in (I'm assuming you live in the U.S.A. If not please correct me), preferably close to home. They give you extra money if you go to a college in the state you live in. Also, very important, if available, buy all used books. Some of the books may not be new, so you'll have to pay full price. Killer on the checkbook, and try to find a steady part-time job. Make a little nest-egg before you start college. Trust me, this information is vital. I wish I had known it my first year.

Lastly, and probably most important, join clubs, make new friends, and take advantage for all that college has to offer. You'll fail if all you worry about are your studies, and you'll excel if you have fun. As soon as I joined a club in my 2nd year, my Grade Point Average (GPA) went from a 2.36 to a 2.69! And if you study hard enough and get above a 3.5 you'll get a grant for that. Which reminds me, try to get grants and not scholarships. Grants are free and scholarships you have to pay back when you graduate. Hope this information was useful!

Blah, I've got a Math test tomorrow. I'm going to fail. Plain and simple!
Tomorrow is also photo day. Damn. At least they have a "Photo Retouch" option now. The take out blemishes and glare from glasses.
Still doesn't make the process any more pleasant.

Oh? Photo day for you? Well, that shouldn't be a problem for you should it? You're really pretty! :keke:

lika-chi, I've forgotten everything I learned about French (in my previous year) over the course of 2 months (aka summer vacation) so I have to cope with the disasters of participation waiting to unfold. But good luck to ya! I think I'll manage... or fail trying. o_o" Stupid textbook... -.-"
