XXXHolic Anime Discussion Thread (episode downloads deleted!)

I heard 26 total, with 24 airing and the last two on DVD (like how they did the first season of Honey and Clover).  xxxHolic's ratings have been fairly good, so they may make a second season like H&C if we're lucky. I think I read it at Chibiyuuto's LJ, but I'm not sure.

Found my source, it was Chibiyuuto's LJ.  Clicky.  Although I was wrong on the number, it's 24 total with 22 aired.  That's from CLAMP-NET, so it's official.

Well, they finally actually made a reference to the white Mokona.

Mokona: Saved by it's stubby little feet.
Watanuki: Are you proud or something?  It was modeled after you!
Mokona: No...it wasn't.
Watanuki: How's that?
Mokona: White Mokona. Black Mokona.
Watanuki: The only thing different is the color!



Could this be them poking fun at the proportion problem that Beetrain is having with the white manjuu? XD

I loved this filler, it was so silly.  Although xxxHolic's fillers are more like concepts or parts of the manga embellished.

My thoughts exactly, including the Amewarashi and Himawari bit. xd Amewarashi hates Himawari and can't stand to be around her.

Also, Production IG has pics of the covers of the first three DVDs of HOLiC here. Aww, three has Watanuki and Doumeki. And two has Yuuko, Maru and Moro. I love Maru/Moro. xd I wish we had bigger versions of those pics.

I love the third one, very reminiscent of the chapter title pages.

The animation of the second part of this season has definately improved, although the actual stories are what I love about the anime (despite having read the manga).

[edit] - Looks like episodes 23 & 24 will actually air, instead of being DVD only.  This is a good sign for a second season.

Just watched the unsubbed ep 20 on youtube. It's a bizarre mix of the photogragh story and the valentine's day story. Yes, there is Doumeki.

Preview of ep 21 shows that it is the toenail-clipping story. Sounds down-right boring (not-to-mention kinda *ew*) but things are never what you think they are with a CLAMP story.  It also has some Doumeki in it so that beats ep 17 no matter what.

Just watched episode 20 (sub's out), pretty good.  Must say that the way they depicted the photograph was downright creepy.  It was creepy in the manga, but with the actual movement and music it was amplified.

21 looks like it's going to deal with the superstition story, I wonder when the hand story will be shown (it is in the opening afterall).

I just finished watching episode 20! The picture is MUCH creepier in the anime than it was in the manga since you can actually see it moving in the anime.

Episode 20 raw's out here. I've been told it's really good, especially from a W/D perspective. ^_^

I seen in Wikipedia that there is going to be 32, but I think there is also going to have a 2nd season because they already have 21 out and it still hasn't told us anything about why Watanuki came [only that he was ment to go there].

I think they will do a 2nd season because I'm saying "Without xxxHOLiC there is no more Tsubasa. Without Tsubasa there is no more xxxHOLiC" I hope it is like that.

I already clarified this earlier in the thread, there's going to be 24.  Originally 23 & 24 were going to be DVD only, but now they are going to air.  Sources here and here.  That's originally from CLAMP-NET, so it's official.  I hope for a second season too.

Also, the xxxHolic anime has no true crossovers with Tsubasa, so it doesn't need the other to work properly in the least.

[edit] - Watched 21 raw, the cow part was so cracky.  From the preview, 22 is going to be about the woman at the bench, so that should be pretty good. ^_^
