I have to agree, I nearly gagged when clone Syaoran looked like he was about to eat Fai's face *chokes*. Gah.

O.o weird. Because they always seemed to still have an eye, it just didnt work. Now Fai-kun's got an empty socet.
Watanuki style eye patch. They could always ring up Yuuko and do the whole trade/share eye thing like Watanuki and Doumeki.

What may happen:
Real!Syao kills Clone!Syao and takes the Heart Fai's holding on to. Gets Clone!Syao's memories with it, everyone is happy they keep going on their journey tra la la la la.

i came up with a theory about fai's magical eyes and his tatoo:

perhaps the tatoo didnot serve as a blocker or seal or even a booster...perhaps it just prevented enem,ies from finding out the source of his magic. CloneSyao figured it out in an instant after fai used his magic!

kinda lamish, but intersting ne? ^^;;

This is how CLAMP normally draws characters who loses an eye. Usually they have the eye wrapped up for a bit before showing it *points to avatar of Subaru with his eye wrapped up*.

actualy when subaru wanred her that her "most precious person" was indanger of being lost, her eyes opened, so she's half awake atleast :-/ maybe she's styill chitchatiing with subaru XP

Maybe the X characters have some convient glass eyes. They can give one to Fai, if they're not totally put off the foreigners by the end of this (if they are, I don't blame them in the slightest). I imagine he'll end up with one blank eye, like most of the one-eyed CLAMP characters, even if he doesn't have an eye left.

Anyway, does anybody thinks it's interesting, that even though Fai often cared of his appearence and didn't want to get hurt, his PRECIOUS item still was his tatoo? Granting a wish requires the most valuable thing, which means that this tatoo was more important for Fai, than

It's possible that he could, but I doubt Fai would want him to. Fai's probably not interested in ripping the eye out again eating it out - he'd probably be more interested in getting their Syaoran back than getting his eye back. I doubt he's as obsessed with it as his fangirls are.

He might like to have the magic back, but he'd probably be willing to let Syaoran have half of it (since he didn't really want to use it anyway). Syaoran would probably want him to have the magic back, as might Kurogane and Sakura, but Fai would probably insist that he was fine in the Fai-ish way of his.

This all assuming that clone!Syaoran returns to normal, which I'm not seeing as a sure thing right now. If we end up with real!Syaoran instead, he wouldn't have the eye at all, though if the clone were destroyed he might be able to give the magic back. Even then I don't think Fai would be keen on eating pieces of his fallen comrade (oh god, I'm grossing myself out). Maybe the magic would return on its own if the clone was destroyed? I don't think that would restore Fai's eye, though.

Seriously, I don't think it's likely.

Too much eye-eating in a series will give us all indigestion. The source of Fai's power is an interesting question, though. It's most likely natural, but why would he need the marking? Is there a law/custom in Celes that dictates that magicians with a certain amount of power must wear markings? Why it would be so important to Fai, more important than the magic itself, I can't imagine...

Hmmm yes, I hope we're pretty much finished with all the eye-eating business. Not necessarily because I'm overly grossed out by it, but just because I wouldn't want CLAMP to re-use the "omg! there goes my eye!" plotline.

Yes, I agree. I like the grossness factor, but it would get old. Actually, I think it would get pretty funny after awhile. ("What, do you people live on eyeballs or something?")
