Nice start and don't worry about being sued or anything like that. A simple disclaimer works fine and as long as you don't try to profit from it, it's all cool.
You may want to refrain from personal comments during the story. Use this section to explain some of the things you've done instead of interrupting the pace of the story. If you must use footnotes, number and post them at the end of the chapter so it looks and reads without disturbing the flow and pace.
I look forward to seeing more chapters to this...and remember...as long as you're having fun doing the story, deep down that's all that matters
