Well, I am a huge Harry Potter fan.n I started reading the books I believe somewhat in the end of 2000 and beginning of 2001. I started buying them in spanish, and even my dad started reading them. Book 5 is the first book I bought in english, because I couldn't wait for the spanish translation. Of course when that one came out I also bought it for my dad. So this year I'm also getting HBP in english first!
My favorite ship is Harry/Hermione. I love the character of Hermione, 'cause I relate a lot to her, sometimes my hair even gets bushy (darn humidity of the country). We almost have the same birthday (I'm sept.18, and she's sept 19). And I agree with the poster that said that in OotP Harry and Hermione seemed to get closer.
As for the movies, I liked them, and of course I don't expect them to be exactly the same as the book. There are many factors, like time, teh pace the story has to move to get everything going, etc. I much rather have a story with good pace than have a movie that takes every scene like a copy-paste from the book. For me, Prisoner of Azkaban is the best movie yet, because it kept the same feeling of the characters. Sure, some scenes where different, and the moved the order of things, and some others were left out, but you could get the grasp of the story, and this movie was more about the characters than about the concept of magic. I loved that they placed the characters first, because the book PoA is about the characters, it is the most personal book in the series IMHO.
I have been doing a fan fic, that is some sort of cross-over with CCS. The fic is in spanish though, and it is not completed yet, but I have lots of fun when I write it.
