Lomachislots War - Lost Childhood (Original) ~

Rin stared into the room, unaware that right behind her Andy and Phineas had also walked in. The smell of copper in the air caused her ot bring her hand up to her nose, as she searched the room her eyes fell upon Anise.

She walked over to her twin sister and knelt down next to her and placed her trembling hand on her. "A-Anise.. w-wake up..." she said as she nudged the girl, she felt something wet and pulled her hands back, looking at them she noticed it was blood. "B-B-blood...." she said fearfully and backed away quickly, she then brushed against Ranmaru's dead body. She began to shiver all over before letting out a frightening scream.

Andy gently pushed Rin away, checking first Anise's pulse, then Rammaru's.  Phineas swiftly walked over to Rin and put his hands on her shoulders.  Steadily he said, "Look at me, Rin.  In the eyes.  I need you to breathe calmly and start walking away.  Andy's going to do what he can." 

Andy turned and looked at Phineas grim.  "Anise has a heart beat.  She must have passed out.  Her however...."  he motioned to the dead body, "She's gone."

Phineas bit his lip.  "What're you going to do?"  Andy looked over at Phineas.  "I need to carry Anise to the medical center or clinic or whatever it is.  And then we need to get adults and police on the scene as fast as possible."

Rin listened to the two, but avoided their talk and just pushed Phineas away. "Anise!" she shouted and knelt beside her twin sister and nudged her several times, tears falling from her face. "Wake up!" Rin demanding as she continued to nudge her sister.

In short order the commotion had drawn the attention of some of the staff and two of the teachers.

Both Phineas and Andy had to drag Rin away from Anise as the staff and teachers ran foward.

"Anise! Anise!" Rin shouted fearfully, tear's still falling from her eyes. "Let go!" She said trying to pull Andy and Phineas off her.

[Director of Music]

Andy and Phineas struggled to hold Rin back.  Some of the staff who were trained in emergencies took control of the situation.

As Rin struggled her teacher soon came by. She looked into the room and noticed a staff member tending to Anise, she heard Rin constantly shouting Anise's name and walked to her and knelt down. She could tell the boy's were lossing the battle to hold her and that she could break their grips at any momment, then it happened, Rin wrenched her arms out of Andy and Phineas's grips and ran toward Anise.

She ran back into the room and dodged a staffer; but then he nose picked up on the copper smell and she became dizzy. She repeated the word' blood' again and staggered backwards toward Andy and Phineas, before she collasped in front of them.

Andy and Phineas caught Rin just before she fell.  The teacher told them to escort her back to her room. Andy and Phineas both took Rin quickly back to her room.  She looked as if she might get sick at any given moment.  Thankfully however for the boys, she didn't try struggling again.

The staff had finished checking Anise over and taken her to the on site infirmary. Because of the blizzard though there was no way for the authorities to arrive, and worse off, no medical services.

In her room, Rin was fast asleep in her bed. One of her classmate's watched over her with concerned eyes, "thank you," the student to Andy and Phineas. "It's rare for her to be brought in like this, but I'm guessing she had a panic attack at the sight of blood huh?" she asked.

Phineas nodded.  "Yes...I knew she didn't care for the sight of blood, but I never knew it was this bad."

The student smiled. "She doesn't really talk much about it, so I'm not surprised you don't know," she said and took a seat on the chair next to Rin's bed. "I don't know what happened up there, someone said someone was hurt, but telling by the way she looked when you brought her in, I think 'hurt' is not the word to describe it, eh?" she smiled and then shook her head.

"It's night, I think it's best you two turn in, I'm going to stay by her side all night," the student said and got up. "And I doubt the teachers will let you stay in here even 'after' what has happened," she winked at the two of them.

Phineas remained clueless whilst Andy nudged him.  "Let's go Finny, she's right.  The adults won't let us stay."  Phineas frowned slightly but nevertheless, followed Andy out.  Just outside the doorway, Andy sighed.

"What a vacation, huh Finny?"

Phineas nodded, a nervous laugh coming from him.  "Tell me about it.  Both of them are hurt in someway or another.  I think for both it's more shock then anything..."  He trailed off.  Andy slapped him on the back.  "They'll get through it.  We've known them for a long time.  They'll make it through because we'll be there for them every step of the way."

After the girl watched the boy's leave she sighed and turned toward Rin. "I don't know what it was you saw, but it's obvious whatever it was was frightening.." she said and got up.

She walked over to her own bed and laid down. "The storm is still going, I wonder if it'll still be here tomorrow?" she asked herself and pulled the covers over her.

In the nurse's room the nurse checked Anise over. She was confident that the staff had done their job but she just wanted to make sure, she had an extra uniform for the girl to wear so she undressed her out of her blood stained clothing and into a plain white shirt and skirt. She was tempted to take her to her room but decided against it and instead put her to bed in one of the spare bed's that was lying around.

Elsewhere, Lurea and Yoko were examining the scene. Yoko looked disgusted and had already thrown up in a basket, she wiped her mouth and stared back at the corpse. "This is what our government does to those of us with magic?"

Lurea grumbled. "Not even a child is safe, sickening..." she said and covered her mouth and nose. Already the room was beginning to fill with a foul smell of a rotting corpse, "Yoko, go back to your room and rest.. I'll deal with this," Lurea said and got up.

Yoko sighed and looked away. "I don't wanna though..." she said. Lurea sighed and shook her head, "get some rest, while we've seen many of these before, in this case it was someone who you already knew.. someone who got you into the academy... a family fri-" Lurea was then interrupted when Yoko shouted, "Shut up!"

The little girl stood there, tear's down her face. "I get it ok?" she said and walked out of the room. She walked down to the floor and into the room she was assigned, she saw Rin fast asleep, along with a classmate who was also asleep. She sniffled and walked over to a bed and laid down, for a few seconds she couldn't sleep, but then she felt something come over herself and soon was out like a light.

Phineas nodded.  "True.  We'll help them."  Soon, they arrived at their room.  Both boys were exhausted and landed onto the beds.

Next day

The morning was brought with a strong wind that was blowing up the loose snow. Yoko awoke to the sound of the wind slamming the shutters against the window, she yawned and got into her uniform. She walked out of the room and up to the floor of last nights incident, she saw military officers and personal looking through the crime scene.

"I guess they are still looking for stuff," Yoko said and yawned. She made her way back to the room and heard someone crying, she looked over and saw that Rin, while she looked to be asleep, was actually awake and crying. She was about to ask if everything was ok when she felt someone's hand on her shoulder, she looked to find the nurse standing there. "Let her cry," the nurse said softly. Yoko blinked, then looked back at Rin, her own expression of sadness.

She relunctantly left the room and went to the dining hall. There she found Lurea sitting at a table eating breakfast, she walked over and took a seat. "Morning," Yoko said.

Lurea smiled. "Morning, sleep well?" she asked, knowing the answer already. "No," Yoko said and laid her head down.

"Get something to eat," Lurea said and took a sip from her milk. "The nurse told me that she's going to let Anise rest most of the day, we'll be able to talk to her later... provided she'll want to talk..."

The third grader nodded and got up from her chair. She sighed and left for the salad bar, which was now a breakfast bar.

Anise was awake and staring out the window of the room she was in. Her eye's dead, her expression full of sadness. She was at a loss of what to do, the nurse had told her she could sleep there and that if she needed someone to talk to she could talk to her.

"Ranmaru...." Anise said and laid back down, tears down her eyes.

[Director of Music]

Phineas and Andy both awoke at the same time.  They felt at a loss as if what to do.  It frustrated Andy because he wanted to do something to help, and yet he could think of nothing.  Phineas rolled over to look at the ceiling.  Things seemed to be hapeening so quickly...things so unexpected.  Phineas got up and put on blue jeans and sweater.  Andy slowly rolled out of bed and smoothed out his clothing from yesterday as best as possible.

The two headed down to the dining hall where people were already filling up.  They each took a roll and juice.  They really weren't that hungry.  After eating, Phineas and Andy spoke up at the same time.

"Let's go see Rin"
"Let's go see Anise."

There was an awkward silence among them, as they tried to figure out the best course of action.  Andy broke the silence.  "We'll see both of them...of course." Phineas nodded.  "Yes...whoever's room we go upon first, we'll go to that room first and then the second."

Andy smiled slightly, a glimpse of his old self.  "Good compromise Finny."

Rin sighed, she was up and staring out the window. She knew what she wanted to do, but didn't have the courage to do it. "What a pathetic sister I am... unable to even go to my twin sisters aid cause I fear what she might think... I've always protected her through these years and this time I wasn't able to," she said sourly and sat on the bed.

The nurse had returned to her room and found Anise asleep once again she knew however that the girl had been awake. She left a carton of juice on the table and sat down in a chair and began to write in her daily journal.

The first room they were able to arrive at was Rin's.  Phineas slowly turned the doorknob and walked in.  Andy was right behind him.  Phineas broke the stunned silence.  "Erm.  Good morning." He said in all casualness.  "How are you, Rin?"

Rin looked up from her pillow and stared at Andy and Phineas. She stared at them before laying her head back down, her friend was sitting next to the bed and smiled. She whispered something into Rin's ears, which made the girl jump in surprise. "A-Andy! Phineas! I.. umm... err...." she said, shocked.

The young girl rubbed both of her hands together, embarassed and unsure what to say .Her friend whispered to her again, telling her what Phineas had asked. "Oh.. ummm fine.. I'm fine.. why?" she forced a smile.

[Director of Music]

Andy slapped his head while Phineas passed on a strained smile as well.  "Er, well, if you're feeling up to it, why don't we take a walk?  Er...get some fresh air and stuff.  And Andy doesn't have to come either if you don't want him too."

Andy waved.  "Yeah. Take a walk, Rin.  With Ol Finny here.  I'll be back later."  Andy ran out of Rin's room and stopped at the door of the infirmary.
